Finished off the skin, reworked the glow a bit including a trompe l'oeil edge on the inside of the skin fold, and varnished all the non-metal bits to take the gloss off.

I've also resprayed the claws a sort of red-copper but after taking these. They need some brushwork still.

this was from that time wirey went all funny after eating some bad ork burgers

awww, aren't they cute together ;)

Added a lot more edge highlights and sealed the metallics with a coat or two of Tamiya LP Pearl Clear. Will knock back the gloss in places with weathering and spot varnish later.

Two coats of Alclad Black Primer and one of Aldclad Steel. Then various highlights/shading with Duralumin, Pale Burnt Metal, and Hotmetal Blue.

Carapace follows the same green as the cartouche, but lighter as it's mostly facing up. Maybe lacking a bit of translucenct feel compared to the cartouche?

For the skin I wanted a variety of ages. They all started with a thin patchy coat of Flayed One Flesh (what else?) over the steel and then I differentiated with washes of Fyreslayer Flesh, Darkoath Flesh, and Darkoath Flesh mixed with Apothecary White for the really old grey skin. Then various highlights and shading. Probably too much green at the moment.

The skin over the face is very loose and rough. I'm not totally sure if the translucency works but I quite like the idea and might play it up a bit on some of the other areas.

Shaded with Drakenhof Nightshade, quite heavily below the waist, then all the recesses and grooves and marks filled in with Black Templar.

A variety of metallics applied by sponge, brush and drybrush, glazes of turquoise, and a gentle buffing to bring it together a bit.

Painted following my 28mm Necron scheme, but obviously with a bit more detail. I started with a much darker green for the cartouche rather than working down from Ionrach Skin (grey-green) since it's in shadow. On the back plates I'll probably do the same but take it further towards the light end.

although suffering from terrible family loss and overcoming many hardships, i am happy to report that ed has finally found love

Here is a picture of a somewhat recently completed Flayed One by the little lady. She decided one of them needed a kitten. Upon this revelation she grabbed some green stuff and sculpted one herself.

That is the final result.

The dice are a recent acquisition from a forum I frequent. One of the members set up an order thread and capped out at a whopping order of 1800 dice from Chessex (pretty good for a small forum). As you can see they are quite well adapted for the life of a Necron player. They are complete with a chainmail dice bag for ultimate protection while on the go.
