An artist named Nikki Rosato makes art from road maps. You're looking at paper, mounted on a wall. Rosato has cut away land masses from the maps, leaving roads and rivers. Biologically, they resemble the circulatory system. But more deeply, the artist sees them as metaphors for the places, paths, and experiences that have shaped the people we have become.

Flat art, made with glass, hanging at a craft festival. I took this photo through the back of the frame, partly because the sun was lighting it up from the other side!
For nearly two years Mom woiked on a piece of needlepoint that will become a long altar cushion at a nearby church. She took a break when she finished, but has now embarked on a lovely pillow for her living room. She indulged me and my camera during our just-ended visit.
