Colourful Jordanian flag bunting hanging in the ancient City of Petra, Jordan. Loving the Bokeh of the trees in the background.
The flags at the Beach Hut Cafe flying in a good blowing north westerly today. A brief sunny spell between showers.
The largest flag in Mexico City framed by a statue in front of the Auditorio Nacional, an entertainment centre in Chapultepec in Mexico City. Taken with the sharp Sigma 135mm art lens, I really have to make an effort to use the lens more!
Here is a blog I wrote about framing in photography

Have A Great Day My Friends
An abstract recreation of the Swiss Cross, shot in Zürich.
Part of my flags project, where I (attempt to) evoke the flag of a nation I am visiting through a particular image. In this case the base image was a red crane against a white cloudy sky. I inverted the colours in GIMP, then pushed the contrast up as high as I needed to get the effect
B&W, shot with a Nikon D40 and a Nikkor AFS DX 18-200mm F/3.5-5.6G lens, and processed in GIMP.
This mural was found in the second level of the Whataburger by the bay and 'depicts the history of flags that have flown over Texas'. I do believe my favorite is the Whataburger flag.
Sep. 8, 2024: Students, staff, and volunteers installed The Waves of Flags 9/11 memorial at Pepperdine University yesterday. The nearly 3,000 flags are in memory of people killed in the terrorist attack on Sep. 11, 2001. The flags are displayed at the corner of Pacific Coast Highway and Malibu Canyon Road through Sep. 27, 2024.
There was little wind, so I created this intentional camera movement image with a neutral density filter and 1/6th sec exposure. #priceless #flickrFriday

The Waves of Flags, at the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and Malibu Canyon Road, will be on display through Friday, Sept. 23, 2022.
Just another red white and blue fourth for Daisy. As you can see....she's got a good bit more freedom to celebrate today than she did yesterday. 😉
CN 522 has finished its work at Nova Grain and is about to head back to Southwark Yard as a crewmember flags the Rue Gaudette crossing. Power is CN 9523 and CN 9410.
It seemed like taking with me a tiny flag of every single country in the world was a good idea – after all, lots of countries hadn’t been to space yet, now they have – I regretted my decision slightly when I had to repack them… they’re all strung together on a cord, which in space automatically turns into a big old bag of knots… Mark and Shane had to rescue me!

Do you know what each of these flags represent? At the top of the Rock of Gibraltar they have three flags flying. The Union Jack is in the middle, as Gibraltar is an overseas territory of the United Kingdom. The flag on the right is the flag of Gibraltar while the flag on the left is the flag of the European Union. Gibraltar has a complicated history, as this small peninsula, has been occupied by the Moors, the Spanish and British.
