Braems was a merchant and supporter of Charles l who keeping quiet in Cromwell's time, emerging at the 1660 Restoration to become an MP. He bought up land all along the front at Dover and so manipulated the harbour rights that he made a vast fortune which he spent on building a great house here which ruined him. (its remains are now part of the stables in Bourne Park behind the village street) He entertained the portrait painter Cornelius Jansen. (Arthur Mee)

Performer Lisa Marie DiLiberto presents the FIXT POINT Theatre The Tale of a Town β Queen West without a βconventionalβ stage as the audience is led through streets and alleys and into abandoned spaces. While walking she changes identities more than six times, slipping in and out of characters as she brings to life the legend of Queen West. This event is part of the increasing number of diverse walking and outdoor experiences in the City linked to the arts communities.

FIXT POINT is an acclaimed site-specific theatre media company and with a mandate to inspire audiences to imagine change. Over 100 Toronto artists, and entrepreneurs were interviewed about this neighbourhood and their stories were woven together to form the narrative for this play.
