Desde un punto de vista científico, podemos estar ante el primer ejemplo identificado de asentamiento de altura vinculado a la aristocracia hispanogoda, siendo posible documentar su posterior evolución a hins complejo, asociado a la fitna (guerra civil) de finales del siglo IX y principios del X.
Está enclavado en el extremo occidental de la plataforma, en el sector de mayor anchura, abarca una superficie de 4.200 metros cuadrados aproximadamente.
La torre, situada en el ángulo noreste. Es de planta rectangular con unas dimensiones de 5,50x4, 60 m. Es hueca y tiene una habitación interior de 3,60 x 2, 50 m, 9 m2. El grosor de las paredes oscila entre 1,10 m del lado sur y 0,90 de las restantes. El vano de acceso se encuentra, al interior del recinto con una luz de 0,76 m. No hay indicios de la existencia de una segunda planta, ya que se conserva únicamente un alzado de 2 metros de altura.
La planta es de forma trapezoidal, presentando una fábrica similar a la de la torre residencial, muros elaborados con mampuestos irregulares de kimberlita y peridotita trabados con argamasa rica en cal, pero sin ladrillos fragmentados. Los muros están construidos mediante dos paramentos de mampuestos bien careados que se rellenan con ripios en bruto.
