Fishing for Happiness.... that's the book I've been reading... and enjoying it so much, that I stopped reading it because I didn't want to finish it because I didn't want it to end. (Yeah... I know, that makes absolutely no sense... except in MY world, where it makes perfect sense.) I will finish it, eventually. It's a good read and makes good sense, and I haven't started following the advise in the book to achieve happiness... but eventually, I'll try that too! For now.... my happiness comes from filling my car with props and heading out to one of my favorite places ... usually with no particular plan in mind... and just seeing what happens! Last night I ended up sitting in one of my props and enjoying a beautiful sunset. It wasn't a bad day...
Fishing is much more than fish. It is the great occasion when we may return to the fine simplicity of our forefathers.

He caught a Catfish apparently! But they threw him back in the creek
Fishing at Sunset: Manzanita Lake in Lassen Volcanic National Park must be a great place to fish. While I was taking my sunset shots of Mount Lassen, I saw a number of people fishing. I really liked the lighting in this scene.

Here is my entry for the Through the Seasons category of the Summer Joust 2021, with my build depicting Kyle the Fisherman doing some fishing during the spring season. Overall I'm decently happy with this, most of it was built in a day. There were a few things I would've done differently had I started earlier but I think it turned out pretty good and I'm very happy with my rockwork after not having done any for a long time.
This was done in collaboration with:

A great fishing spot just a couple of miles from my house. The river empties into the head of Charlotte Harbor which then flows into the Gulf.
This was taken near the El Jobean bridge and fishing pier which is in my photostream done in sepia tone.
I want to thank each and everyone who has taken their time to view, fave or comment on my photo. I truly appreciate it.

And the last picture of this little series.
And it seems to me that working in series is an interesting artistic approach. We always shoot many pictures of one theme. Depending on the variety of these pictures it can be interesting to create series that cover the theme from different angles. There's the risk of repetition (and I loath repetition) but I still appreciate working in series.
