Been working hard on the grimy, slimy roads of Scotland!
A First Response (Paramedic) vehicle called out to an incident by the former Upper Cwmbran School. I see from the number plate that NHS Wales procured the vehicle from Bristol.
In #Pembrokeshire, along with other rural areas, the First Responders are the people who can often get to a #medical emergency in remote #rural areas the fastest. Some use motorcycles, but #cars can go quicker than ambulances on the narrow, winding back-roads.
They are a brilliant service... I know: they helped keep me in the land of the living 18 months ago!
This was the launch of the Skid Car cradle used during driver training from about 1993/4. It could create any type of skid by raising one of more wheels off the ground

In tribute to the women and men on the Police Force, on the Fire Department, and those who help fight and protect on a daily basis. The most recent tragedies in Boston and in Texas have given me a renewed appreciation for all those brave men and women who put their lives on the line to protect other strangers with their lives.

Iveco / Bence / Excelerate forward Command Vehicle, next to Iveco Prime Mover with POD and two versions of the VW Transporter T5 4motion. The Special Operations Response Division is part of the National Risk and Resilience Department. The Special Operations Response Teams operate a range of specialist vehicles and equipment to enable them to access, triage and treat patients in environments where other paramedics are not able to operate.
Wadham Stringer bodies on 'P' reg 1976 vehicles newer Hanlons on 'T' reg 1979 models. All Bedford CF 2.3 Auto. The more compact Wadham bodies gave better handling than the taller Hanlons which were larger in the rear compartment. 1976 vehicles were Mark 1, pre-facelift CFs.

Deep in the grip of a severe winter. A National Risk and Resilience Department, Special Operations Response Team, SORT Response Unit (SRU) restocks supplies between calls. The CRV 2.2 Diesel is the standard rapid / paramedic response unit, the SRU differs as it also carries specialised scene assessment and other kit. In the background are two VW LT46 SORT Emergency Support Units (Major Incident Equipment Vehicles)
Iveco 6.5 tonne Incident Response Unit, Bence Coachwork - designed as a first specialist attendance vehicle, introduced in 2009. Behind the IRU is the 2005 VW LT46 from the NRRD SORT Logistics Unit. The Special Operations Response Division is part of the National Risk and Resilience Department. The Special Operations Response Teams operate a range of specialist vehicles and equipment to enable them to access, triage and treat patients in environments where other paramedics are not able to operate.
