The Recreation Ground in my village were having their Firework Display. The Rec is not far from me at all so I can see them easily from my house so I tried to catch some of them on my camera. It's strange what the camera creates!

Firework from Elliot Bay. It was a really fun day hanging out with Joy from 4 pm at the park waiting to see these wonderful fireworks. It was totally worth it, and we had a great time together.
Here are a few firework photos I shot on the 3rd in Chicago. I think I did fairly well for my first time. I did all manual exposure and focousing. I didn't even really have to braket that much as my first guess at exposure was almost right on. I have some where upwards of 60 good ones, but obviously I wont post them all here. If you need to advice on shooting fireworks for tomorrow ask and Ill fill you in on more of the details. Oh, by the way, I've noticed that you really have to see these things in high res on a color corrected monitor. Anything else doesn't quite seem to do them justice. Never the less here are a few.
After having a night to sleep on it, I think I have decided this photo is my favorite from the set. I like the composition and the color. The whole photo seems to have directionality which makes it easy for your eye to follow as opposed to some of the more chaotic looking shots. The colors work well together (and aren't over exposed). Most of all, what I like about it is that it looks different than your typical firework shot.
