Interesting colors of this old fire station. I love the window frame with sun rays on the top of the windows. It was temporarily closed to the public for repairs.
The Parque de Bombas is located in Plaza Las Delicias, directly behind the Ponce Cathedral. Originally built in 1882 as a pavilion for an exhibition, it became the first fire station in Puerto Rico. In 1990, the fire station closed and became a museum. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on July 12, 1984.
Thank you very much for your visit, comments and faves! Very much appreciated!
The model of Vitra Fire station designed by Zaha Hadid (1993), as seen in Vienna's MAK. As AD Classics stated in the article, "...The Vitra Fire Station, designed for the factory complex of the same name in Weil-am-Rhein, Germany, was the among the first of Hadid’s design projects to be built. The building’s obliquely intersecting concrete planes, which serve to shape and define the street running through the complex, represent the earliest attempt to translate Hadid’s fantastical, powerful conceptual drawings into a functional architectural space."

It all looked a bit dreary, so I glammed up the lighting a bit.
Two extra buildings for my New York diorama.
The first one is a chinese restaurant and the second one is a fire station.

I'm happy to see that their wishes finally come through, but I'm also sad because our best people are leaving the club.

View of the 17.5 mark at the Newton Fire Station 2. Firefighters played music all day to inspire the runners and raise money for a children's charity.
Saturday morning at Singapore Central Fire Station. The weather was too hot so I did this under the air conditioning comfort at the food court opposite the building. The vans, the cars and the plants blocked the lower part of the building most of the time but I had no intention to do the details anyway.
It was two days after our National Day celebrations on 9 Aug, it was timely to do this with the National Flag right on the top of the predominately red and white building!
