Wow. I just discovered that Google's Chrome browser has a built-in feature called Developer Tools that acts a lot like the indispensable Firebug plug-in in Firefox. This is A Very Good Thing.

The firebug, Pyrrhocoris apterus, is a common insect of the family Pyrrhocoridae. Easily recognizable due to its striking red and black coloration, it is distributed throughout the Palaearctic from the Atlantic coast of Europe to northwest China. It has also been reported from the USA, Central America and India. It has been reported as recently expanding its distribution northwards into mainland UK. They are frequently observed to form aggregations, especially as immature forms, with from tens to perhaps a hundred individuals.

These fabulous little red bugs seemed to be quite prevalent in the garden. They have very handsome red jackets and you have to see them from above to really appreciate their true beauty!

Lygaeidae: try it in the light box.

The kids were lighting sticks and spreading the fire so I suppose they started it in the first place, while this was going on there was another much larger fire on the mountain top again!

Mission log: 10.1

"They say that insects don't like fire. I find it is a highly effective weapon if used correctly. Sadly command felt it more appropriate that I lead Spearhead Company from the helm, and it would not be safe for me to carry the flamethrower. A shame truly. I knew that I would need CT-1138 to cover me should I need support so I tasked the Flamethrower to one of the Rookies from Nelvaan to carry it.

Regardless, we were one of the few legions of the Corps that were not caught in space combat. It was a relief quite frankly. I despise flying. As General Kenobi might say "flying is for droids". I was to move with my company to squash Geonosian forces who were advancing on General Unduli's position. We were made aware that the Geonosians had been busy since our last visit, and had construct new hives using the wreckage from various ships. I was puzzled by the weird structure that they had constructed. According to CT-5698 this is was to indicate sacred ground to the Geonosians.

I had no concern for this. These bugs were scum and if I had the flamethrower, I would of burnt the structure to the ground. But as I moved ahead with CT-5698 and CT-1138 covering the flamethrower, a Geonosian warrior jumped from out of the wreckage and engaged us. He fired and gunned down CT-7896 and turned his attention to me. He fired first, but missed. I on the other hand never miss..."

On a personal note. I feel that this is my best build for the corps yet! I hope you all enjoy it and be sure to check other images in my photo stream for more views of the different parts of the vignette.

Johnny Foreigner playing at the Summer Sundae Taster, Firebug, Leicester, UK.

Taken on the last day of web development for a local business' website I was working on. I spent about four days on it, and it has an inventory system that will (someday) be integrated with a shopping cart and online payment... 90% of the work was getting that going, and about 10% on the design. I used the Forest Floor Drupal template, modifying it here and there where I needed to spruce things up.

Old site is located at www.statuesplus.com (the new site will go live at this address in less than a week).

App Purposes:

-Finder: to find things, of course!

-Mail: always running, no matter what. Check for mail every minute.

-Safari: personal browser of choice. Runs fast and (usually) lean.

-FireFox: Main development browser. Firebug ROCKS!

-Cyberduck (FTP): Nice, lightweight and FREE FTP client.

-Dreamweaver: I do most of the CSS and PHP editing here, although I'd like to get TextWrangler

-Photoshop: Graphics. All of 'em.

-iTunes: Need to listen to music while I work.

-iChat: It was locked up, but it's usually running in the background.

-VMWare Fusion: Testing purposes - running IE 7, IE 6, and FireFox Windows.

-Textedit: Good for to-do lists, plain-text conversion, and quick edits.

-Address Book: Had to look up the phone number of the guy who owns the site.

Once upon a time, i was like the Ladybird Master. I used to see ladybrid everywhere, even the yellow one !

Love the red color on the bugs ....

I shot this during our photo tour to Theosophical society of Chennai. (Look at the map). I noticed these bugs while walking near the Adyar river. Their bright red color caught my attention. What is another interesting thing about them is that they always walked with their back to each other ... as if protecting each other ... looking out for each other.

It made me wonder, whether I have anyone .. a friend .. a partner who will ALWAYS watch my back ?.. .. .. something to think about on a Tuesday ...

Have a nice week ahead folks!
