As soon as it stopped rainning i went out to take some pictures... but just in time to take a picture of these guys, it started to rain again, i barely managed to get back home without getting my camera wet.

I like these guys because they look like they are walking masks :)

A rework of a post from 2009, this derelict property succumbed to firebugs in 2010.

Als Nymphen werden Jungtiere verschiedener Arthropoden bezeichnet, die, anders als die Larven, äußerlich dem erwachsenen Stadium bereits sehr ähneln. Nymphen findet man beispielsweise bei hemimetabolen Insekten, wo sie sich von den Imagines unter anderem durch noch unvollständig entwickelte Flügel und/oder Genitalien unterscheiden.

Die Gemeine Feuerwanze (Pyrrhocoris apterus) ist eine Art aus der Familie der Feuerwanzen (Pyrrhocoridae). Die durch ihre Färbung sehr auffallende Art wird meist einfach Feuerwanze genannt, sie wird im Volksmund aber auch als Schuster- oder Feuerkäfer bezeichnet, also irrtümlich für einen Käfer gehalten. Die Tiere leben gesellig, so dass man sie in den von ihnen bevorzugten Biotopen häufig in großer Zahl findet

The setting was uber dark, so I had to be a little creative with the settings. The results have been well received though :)

Der Kneipp-Kurort Buckow liegt etwa 50 km nordöstlich von Berlin und ist das Zentrum des Naturparks Märkische Schweiz, einer durch die letzte Eiszeit geformten hügeligen, wald- und seenreichen Landschaft. Der Ort liegt malerisch zwischen drei Seen und wird von dem Flüsschen Stöbber (auch Stobber genannte) durchflossen.

The Kneipp spa resort Buckow is situated about 50 km Northeast of Berlin and is the centre of the Natural Park "Märkische Schweiz". This name meaning "Margravian Switzerland" dates back to the era of romanticism and was a tribute to the beauty of this landscape formed by the Ice Age with steep wooded hills rising among numerous lakes. Buckow is located between three lakes and is crossed by a small river named Stöbber (also known as Stobber).
