Sephiroth. from FF VII.
He is one of my avatar's theme from when I was born. it is still now.
I know the sword which is called "Masamune" should be gripped on left hand. I made mistake. hahaha

Final Fantasy IX celebrates its 25th Anniversary today. The game starts with Vivi exploring the city of Alexandria with his ticket to see the play "I Want to Be Your Canary" being performed in honor of Princess Garnet Til Alexandros XVII's 16th birthday.
Final Fantasy IX was released on July 7th 2000 and was the last Final Fantasy game released for the original PlayStation. It is a fantastic game and easily in my top 3 favorites of the franchise. This particular scene has been one I've wanted to build for a couple of years. When I noticed the 25th Anniversary was approaching I made it a priority to get finished on time.

So I haven't been doing much lately, and with my absence from making minifigs to focus on other things like building and personal stuff, I pretty much hit another one of my dark ages in Lego.
With most of the projects, I set some future goals, and never quite reach them and I kick myself for it. I do make the things I want and like and try to appease the crowd as well as bring in a new audience with newer stuff (like the figs based off comics and Disney). I've strayed so far from my origins which is good, but also bad. I make great video game and comic book minifigs, but fuck that. I'm a Final Fantasy customizor. That's how I started this particular hobby, so I'm going back to that theme.
I've covered Final Fantasy extensively already, and more than anyone could possibly dream to. But lets face it, Lego has come out with parts I wish they had back in 2007-2010 and then there are way more custom products out there, not to mention designers. I didn't have this assortment back then. I'm essentially going to go back and make them again as if I'm just starting out. I'd also like to do some collabs if people are interested. I did this before with my FF Reconstruction and the World of Final Fantasy with the former being updates of figures and the latter being figs based on support characters from the first game. I'm going to wipe the slate clean again and just enjoy myself. I'm not setting goals for this one. I might make full parties from one game or just stick with main characters or make characters I haven't made. Who knows. But my focus will be on figures that need the update. Maybe a new logo too. If you want me to tackle a particular character, go ahead and suggest it if you want (no promises though :P )
So yeah sorry for the tl;dr post. :)

Instructions Available HERE for the Chocobo and carriage.
Cloud and Aerith see Tifa, in a Chocobo carriage, being taken to Don Corneo. Cloud wants to rescue her, but Tifa convinces him that she will be able to gain valuable intel this way. Aerith later convinces Cloud to continue on to Wall Market and sneak into Don Corneo's to help aid Tifa yet still give them a chance at the intel.
This is one of the few times I have gone back and revisited the same subject in a build. The original version was built in a few hours in 2020 for Day 2 of Rebellug's Vignette Week Contest.
I have since seen the original carriage available for sale from knockoff companies who stole my design. At first I thought about making instructions available for my original design, but I quickly realized that I might as well update it. This new version is much more accurate and proportionally correct. It has a full interior and benefits significantly from the extra design time. Instructions available on Rebrickable.
See you next year!
Actually this is "Psylocke" cosplaying as Ashe from the upcoming Final Fantasy XII. I took this picture of her back stage at the San Diego Comic Con masquerade.
So why the odd title?
Well it's funny. I only see "Psylocke" once a year. Usually at Comic Con and usually backstage. It's weird when you only see someone once a year. We chit chat for a bit, I take a few pictures.
It got me thinking about things. How a year sounds like such a long time and yet it comes in a flash. The only thing that reminds me that a year has gone by is when major events happen. Birthdays, Comic Con things like that.
Since I only see her once a year and usually take a picture, it's interesting how people have changed and how I've changed.
For instance, the first picture I took of her was in her Psylocke costume in 2002. Back then it was just the novelty of taking pictures of all the amazing people in costume as I walk around in my put together Squall costume. Very much point and shoot.
Then the year after that in 2003, I took a picture of her Wild Cats costume. Around this time I started learning about using clean backgrounds, decent lighting. Still interested in taking picture of the entire costume, which is great and all and I think I did a good job here. Using natural lighting with a plain background to show off her and her costume.
Then in 2004, once again at Comic Con I took a picture of her KOS MOS costume from XenoSaga. I think this is when I started getting more "artistic." In addition to taking picture of the entire costume, I started thinking about poses, framing, lighting and... well making the picture more interesting. I really liked how this picture turned out. With the darker lighting, the pose she was in, using the corner of the doorway, etc. There's a picture in this set that she's told me is her favorite picture. That's always fantastic to hear. :)
And here comes 2005. Just getting back from Comic Con. Just like clockwork I meet "Psylocke" again. We chit chat, I take a few pictures of her. I meet her sister and her boyfriend backstage. I'm still working on my photography. Heaven knows I have a long way to go photographically. I'm still working on my framing, use of background and light. I like this shot because of the way I used the hallway and again, low lighting, and using the lens flare. I'm not entirely happy with the picture. The model of course is fantastic, there's no doubt about that. :) But the high image noise and a few other things bother me. Oh well. This picture has more... I guess sentimental value then anything else. It's sort of like a tradition.
Only time will tell how much I grow next year and whether I bump into "Psylocke" again. I'm already pre-registered for next year's Comic Con so the first step is there. :)
See you next year! :)

何時もクールだけど、ハートと攻撃はとても熱いビビさん。ブリザドとファイアを使い分ける黒魔導士にぴったりの存在!その存在自体が凄く頼りになります。あと、我がFCのメインイメージキャラクターでもあります。
