A trio of Cartier Railway M636s leads an empty ore train north through Quebec's Réserve faunique de Port-Cartier-Sept-Îles in June 2001. The Cartier was one of the last places on earth to see six-axle Alcos/MLWs in regular service but within a month of this photo being taken most of the M636s were replaced with brand new General Electric locomotives.
We often get to see glorious sunsets here on the Olympic Peninsula. I have heard & read that they derive their beautiful color from the dust that drifts across the Pacific ocean from the Gobi desert in China. Who knows??? I often find myself pausing to admire another gorgeous finale!
There was ambient light coming from the hostel on the right but otherwise I enjoyed this composition. It will probably be the last time I get out to the coast for a milkyway this year. I'm so glad I was able to find a night that worked!

One of my all time favourite reggae tracks, and a great finale to the Toots and the Maytals gig last night, 54-46 was my number , classic. This shot of the shore platforms at Nash Point is vaguely numerical in it's geological formations so that's close enough!
It's also my birthday today, so we're off to see The Jesus and Mary Chain tonight, I doubt they'll be as good as Toots though, he was amazing!!!

An in-focus shot of the New Year's Eve fireworks here in Hobart, Australia.
This was right at the end of the show - I *think* this was the last blast.
My last fireworks shot I uploaded made it to Explore - intentionally out of focus for artistic reasons (with 60,000 views - thank you all!!), so I thought i'd at least show that I can take shots in focus as well!
Als ich Ende April 2021 für den Schotterverkehr ins Achertal gefahren bin, hatte ich nicht gedacht, dass es sich hierbei um die letzten Wochen für die V103 in Diensten der SWEG handelte. Im September wurde sie an die neg überführt und ist seitdem in Norddeutschland im Einsatz, während die SWEG in Kooperation mit Alstom moderne Hybridloks auf ihren Strecken einsetzt. Davon war am 24. April 2021 noch nichts zu erahnen, als die Gmeinder-Lok einen morgendlichen Güterzug nach Ottenhöfen durch den Bahnhof von Oberachern zog.
The finale of Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party fireworks show "Hallowishes" from the Top of the World Lounge at Bay Lake Towers. The display was more to the right than I realized when I set up, but I still got some good bursts of the grand finale.

Am letzten Einsatztag für Rheincargo verschlug es die 248 004 noch einmal in's Allgäu, wo die Lok insgesamt drei Kesselwagenzüge beförderte. Mit dem DGS 59776 Kempten (Allg) Hbf - Hallstadt (b Bamberg) am Haken hat die Lok soeben den Bahnhof Günzach durchfahren und erreicht nun den Scheitelpunkt der Allgäubahn.
