My new desk in my new "office" in our basement. It's made from a $20 door and two used filing cabinets (total cabinet cost: $5). A very functional desk for $25. Compare with the crap particle board hutch-loaded desks at office depot for $100 or more -- no contest.
Haven't posted any pictures in a while. I'm in the middle of my shop renovation and everything is a mess. As I was going through my boxes I found a lot of magazines, like the Rodder's Journal, stuffed in various cardboard boxes and plastic storage containers. I started thinking about getting a file cabinet for the shop and looked at a few but thought they were all to flimsy and I didn't care for the new style hanging folders. A couple of weeks ago I was driving through the down town section of Jonesboro and passed by our Abilities Unlimited store. On a chance I decided to see if they had any file cabinets to my liking. I left with this beauty. It cost $20 and came with a crappy ecru paint job over the original dark green. I disassembled it and took the case and drawer fronts to my powder coating friend for a dusting with my signature red. It is going to look mighty fine in my remodeled shop.

Hey, I remembered I had some Contact paper! Nearly an entire roll left after making the floor for my stage diorama and using a bit more in a collage. So, onto the file cabinet it went, and I think the result is hilarious and entirely appropriate.
