I found this great light fixture through a window in a restaurant on Main Street today. Love the steampunk vibe of the pipe being used as conduit.
Shot with my Fujifilm X-T3 and the outstanding XF 90mm f/2 prime. Processed in Capture One Pro.

"We forget just how painfully dim the world was before electricity. A candle, a good candle, provides barely a hundredth of the illumination of a single 100 watt light bulb."
- Bill Bryson
I do like an enamel sign and this is a delight! Seen in the displays at the astonishing Museum of the Ruhr in Essen this c1920s sign is for the famous 'Osram' brand of filament light bulbs and would have been found outside a shop selling these products.
The name "Osram" dates from the development of metal filaments by the Austrian chemist Carl Auer von Welsbach who was also responsible for the commercialisation of the incadescent gas mantle. His work on rare metals, including OSmium and wolfRAM, meant that by 1906 his company was making filament lamp bulbs in Germany and the UK based GEC acquired rights to both purchase and manufacture these filaments thus introducing the brand name to the UK.
In 1919 three German companies combined their interests, Auer, Siemens und Halske and the AEG, to form the Osram company and it remained associated for decades with Siemens until being spun off a few years ago. In the UK GEC built a new factory at Hammersmith in London and sold 'Osram' equipment until the demise of the concern as Marconi in the 1990s. Both UK and Continental concerns were part of the world wide 'cartel' of lamp manufacturing and selling that for many years effectively 'controlled' this booming market.

Design Jottings - Fancy That! : Live Wires - .Edison-style light bulbs
The quintissential budget Christmas light set of the 1980s and early 1990s which must surely have been produced in the millions.
These multi-coloured lights with traditional incandescent bulbs feature flower-shaped 'petal' or 'tulip' shades.
This is a Woolworths-branded set, but identical sets were sold by many other retailers, under the 'Swan' brand and own labels.
Mains-operated, the set is contructed using 20× 12 volt lamps wired in series between the live and neutral of the mains supply. It consumes around 22 watts of power – which is more than is needed to light an average living room using newer LED technology.
Unlike LEDs, the lamps have only a limited life. To avoid the whole set failing when one lamp burns out, 19 of the lamps are designed so that power will still pass through them when they fail. A side effect of this is that each failure results in the mains voltage being split across fewer working lamps which then have to handle a higher voltage. For example, if 2 lamps were blown then each remaining lamp would now be operating at over 13 volts instead of their usual 12 volts. To avoid overheating, one lamp is designated as a 'fuse bulb' (visible at the top right in this set). Marked with a white tip, this lamp is designed to fail and stop power flowing through the set if too many normal bulbs have failed and the voltage has risen too high.
Despite operating at full mains voltage, this light set is typical of the era and features wiring with only a thin, single layer of insulation. Tougher, safer wiring has been required on all mains-operated equipment since the early 1990s.
