RAF Valley on Anglesey is home to No 4 Flying Training School, responsible for training the UK's next generation of world-class fighter pilots.

Aircrew are also trained at RAF Valley for mountain and maritime operations throughout the world.

RAF Valley is also home to the Mountain Rescue Service, the military's only high readiness, all weather search and rescue, aircraft post-crash management asset.

Glamour Girl greets RAAF 75 Squadron Fly Boy after landing his Mirage fighter in Darwin in August 1983. There’s so much in this photo that defines the 80s in Darwin: the visiting RAAF pilots were treated like rock stars with lots of glamour and razzmatazz! Darwin was then (still is) a very significant military town on Australia’s northern frontier with potential threats from a number of near neighbours!! Time to Party!!
