Rampager Reflection

A little water left on a drainage cover, provided a small pool to capture the reflection of this VFA-83 Super Hornet.

Warthog Wednesday

These guys (and the occasional gal) were my favorites to refuel. Usually a great attitude and would generally be good people. They didn't have the "I'm better than you", pilot attitude. I often met up with several after a deployment or a TDY and we'd trade stories over a beer or two.

2-Ship Arrival

A pair of 18th FIS break for landing over Eielson AFB. Over the past few years, the Blue Foxes have swapped many of their F-16s with those from ANG units to "modernize" their fleet. Note these two jets were previously with the Colorado and Texas ANG units.

RANDY Talons

Nothing like catching a pair of camo'd Randolph AFB T-38Cs, during a gas-n-go at Alliance Airport. These colorful jets are used to teach Introduction to Fighter Fundamentals (IFF) and Pilot Instructor Training (PIT).

Desert Dweller

An oldy from 2007. Our morning departure, coincided with a local Mirage headed out on his own mission. These unique aircraft were specified to UAE standards and are now being transferred to Morocco.

Arctic Interceptor

Returning from a training flight, this Viper Driver makes a low pass down the runway.

The only Fighter Interceptor Squadron in the US Air Force, the Blue Foxes of the 18th FIS fly from Eielson AFB and patrol the Alaskan airspace. During Red Flag and Large Force Exercises, they still conduct Aggressor support missions.

Legacy Lives

Just a couple of the D-model Hornets, returning from the live fire range on Friday morning.

VMFA-323 is a combined operational and training squadron, for the USMC's remaining Hornet fleet.

Recent Acquisition

Proper Adversary! The Heritage scheme on this Langley AFB T-38A, highlights it's Tactical and Adversary support mission perfectly.

 

A magnificent paint scheme on this Phantom from the 501st Tactical Reconnaissance Squadron. the squadron's emblem is the American cartoon character Woody Woodpecker wearing a bowtie @Hyakuri AFB. The 501st retired their McDonnell Douglas F4 Phantoms in March 2020
