Back to April 2012 at Hyakuri Air Force Base in Japan, during a time of increased tension with North Korea due to their missile testing. Consequently, when the usual military runway was already in use, some recoveries were made on the other runway usually reserved for traffic on the civil airport side of the airfield. So, 'right place, right time' as JASDF F-4EJ Phantom 37-8320 from the based 302 Hikotai recovers from a sortie and deploys its brake chute.

The 2010 Fort Worth Alliance Air Show. First time to an air show for me and I must say it's a lot of fun. I wish the Blue Angels flew earlier in the day when the light was better. The sun was nearly in our faces which happened to be the direction we were shooting.
Most frames captured with a Canon EOS 5D Mark II and Canon EF 100-500mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM lens and a few with a Canon EOD 30D and Canon EF 300mm f/4L IS USM lens

Planes 5 & 6 have a little fun. It pays to look at the world upside down once in a while, eh?! Hope neihter one forgets which way is up! :-)
F86 Sabre coming in for Runway 25 at RFD. More than 9800 of the jets were built in the 1950s and onward for use in the Korean War. Only about 20 or so of them are still airworthy in the United States. Neat piece of history.

Yes, the front landing gear folds. And locks. And the door fits overtop. and there's room behind the cockpit for it to fold. Victory!!!
I notice there's no door in these pics. I need some more recent ones. Actually, I should have gotten these posted three or four months ago. :-)
The door is eight studs wide and works about like the door on the F-16. It was inspired by the door on Ralph's A-4 (on Brickshelf), so it shares some basic ideas.

Royal Australian Air Force | McDonnell Douglas F/A-18A Hornet | A21-24 | Adelaide, SA | 22FEB20 "Flyby of the 2020 Adelaide 500."
A little higher up. The FLIR (or whatever the Russians call it) is the little humdinger off to the right of the cockpit.
This is a remade #fighter #jet previously posted I corrected the nose with #Lego and this piece is now 100% I decided to go monotone dark grey. The photo is photo shopped (obviously) and I did it all from my phone. used the #picstitch app in conjunction with an #app called #brushes.
I actually used the same plane and stitched the 2 photos together. This turned out in my opinion excellant., I added retractable landing gear as seen on the above jet, in the up position. I am loving it! Give me your thoughts and opinions! This jet is modeled after a Lego jet I saw on Bearded Jon\'s wall a while back. Thanks for the inspiration! Made my weekend complete!
