A close pic of the field medic and her bag, for those of you who wanted to see it in greater detail.
After seeing some of my Flickr contacts posting their Rapeseed shots, I had to take the camera out and see what I could find. No lone trees unfortunatly but this was just off the A3 on the way home yesterday.

Visited the Woodinville Lavender Farm during our Seattle visit. The lavender scent and the purple color blow your mind away. If you have a couple of hours to spare when you are in the area, check out these farms.

Testing out my new Sigma 30mm F1.4. The first autofocus lens I've used in about a year. Loving the shallow depth of field you can get from a relatively wide focal length.

Lavender fields near Sault, Provence, France on the "route du lavandre" (Lavender Road). These are fields for producing oil on a big scale, so the color of the flowers is a bit muted, but the smell is amazing.
Here's a shot from Skagit Tulip Festival earlier this year. I just love going to the Tulip fields in Skagit, its just such an amazing place to have a walk around.
Been really busy this year so I am happy that I am finally able to go through them all.
Alla fine così resta
chi decide di essere solo.
Resta ritto
imperterrito di fronte al vento e alla tempesta,
impassibile all'arsura dell'estate e al gelo dell'inverno.
Resta ritto
con il cuore rugoso di cicatrici,
la mente avvolta in mille pensieri indecifrabili,
i sorrisi amari e accennati, a stento ceduti,
lo sguardo vuoto che elemosina momenti di pace,
le lacrime a stento frenate per non esondare.
A Grand Central class 180 working the 12:53 London Kings Cross to Sunderland service passes Sutton on Trent, north of Newark on the gloomy afternoon of January the 11th 2018. The residence is a bit close to the line for my liking but it looks like someone lives there and the backyard made for an interesting foreground.
Spotted this peaceful scene in a field near Cushendun beach. The horse looked so content in this yellow ragwort-covered meadow with an old ruined castle in it. I'm guessing it is ragwort, which for a weed, looked really beautiful in the green grass.
John has just identified this ruin as the early fourteenth century Carra Castle in Cushendun. Thanks, John!

Monarda punctata (Spotted Beebalm) detail.
Reminiscent of a fashionable collar, the ruff, from the baroque era. The garment was worn by both men and women. It was a detachable, starched collar made of linen or lace supported by silk covered wire.

And
I just like this field, which is just over the River Tyne, from Hailes Castle. I like it's stripes and it's ridge.
It kind of looks like I am standing at the top of a field looking down, with the top of the image being the low point, but it's completely the opposite, as the low point is the lowest part of the image and it goes sharply uphill.
Hailes Castle itself, is a real treat too.
(no, not that river Tyne!)
