This barn looked like a wedge of fudge in this golden field. I had to tone this photo down a bit, because the wheat fields are so bright in August.The wheat will be ready for harvest again in September. ..........Near Pine City, Eastern, Or.
couldn’t resist putting another up – just love this light! and also iv really suffered for these pics as i was covered in insect bites the next day! i actually thought i had chicken pox when i woke up! what can i say – im an insect magnet!

Well, I had a fantastic evening checking out these opium poppies. As we arrived literally all we could say was WOW! we were speechless.... what a scene! Finally a decent crop has made a come back to the area!
I wanted to capture the wider vista and the detail all at once and I think this shot really shows you just how far this field goes on for. With a cloudless sky it can be a bit uninspiring but I decided to include the bright, golden glow from the sun setting behind this amazing crop.
Not only do I have lots of images to go through, I am sure another trip will be in order real soon! I am just in awe of this gorgeous scene.

Agriculture makes up a significant part of the land in Niagara. Traditionally, tender fruit such as grapes, cherries, peaches and strawberries have been the most commonly seen crops. Within the last decade or so, corn seems to have become the most common crop. In particular, corn fields cover significant areas where vineyards once were.
One the one hand, corn just does not smell as sweet as grapes in the September sunshine. On the other hand, corn fields make much better places to create mazes.

it was such a misty day yesterday, giving great atmosphere i think to these latest shots. Everywhere was still and silent apart from the drone of the farmer's tractor in the fields.
I have been cursing these fields I drive past every day for weeks. I'm going to get a speeding ticket just trying to dodge the hayfever they induce within seconds. Dialled down the colour in the hopes it has a voodoo effect and tomorrow I can get to work with mascara intact.
Beautiful poppies taken in a field near Kingswinford, West Midlands. The Remembrance poppy is the common field poppy (Papaver rhoeas), one of the first wildflowers to colonise disturbed ground or fallow cornfields. It became identified with the battle zones of the First World War, or Flanders Fields, which were originally corn fields.
Much of Malawi has been cultivated into farmland. These fields are for maize.
Astonishingly, these fields are all furrowed, sown, weeded, fertilized, and harvested by hand, with the most basic tools.
There's nothing like a good old fashioned midwestern summer thunderstorm... especially dramatic from above!
This morning, I told Jef I wanted to find sunflowers...but I wasn't sure when peak bloom was. He told me it was right around the middle to end of July. So we headed toward Seymour just looking for sunflower fields (we'd found several fields in that area within the last few years).
No sunflowers.
Jef suggested I "ask my phone" where sunflower fields were in the area. I wasn't very confident that would work, but I tried it anyway. Sure enough...the 1st Annual Sunflower Fest appeared on FB. I clicked on the link to see when it was. NO KIDDING...it was TODAY and TOMORROW!
When we arrived, it was swealteringly hot, but I had goosebumps like a kid in a candy store!! We bought corn for our birds, we rode the tractor through the rows of sunflowers...and I even set up my camera so Jef could get a photo of me standing in the field!!
I am a happy girl! Not sure why...but I LOVE sunflowers!! <3
