Apagallums, Cogomella, Paloma, Maneta
Carn blanca i tova. Olor agradable.
I am jumping ahead in the trip but I liked the red top of both the plant and rusty roof of this old and decaying asbestos sheet (fibro as we would call it) house at Yamba in northern New South Wales. Happy Thursday Door Day.
Life Lines
This week the theme for the Snap Happy challenge was chosen by Cheryl and this is my contribution to it.
This is a section of a split tree that I have been trying to bring down the last few weeks showing the fibro that is running up in the trunk.

A couple of weeks back, we passed this old asbestos sheet (fibro as Aussies would call it) at no. 2 Fortune Street, Scarborough, Redcliffe in Queensland. I noticed that despite its age that it was having a new roof. These are the type of homes that get sold and get the chop real fast these days - you will notice that its outlook at the rear right is sheer beauty over the expanse of Moreton Bay.
We passed it again yesterday and what a difference a couple of weeks make. It now has a massive Besser Brick wall going up in front and all that nasty and horrible asbestos sheet on the front has been removed to reveal the original weather boards underneath. A major transformation in progress. Be interesting to see (hopefully) a fine result at the end of the project, I suspect some new additions may be added at the back. I wonder if he will keep that classic letterbox?
It has weathered a lot of years and looks to have evaded being blown up on Cracker Night (Guy Fawkes) all those years ago when we used to have them.
I love this house and yesterday I understood why. It has the lovely formal and elaborate facade on the left and the fibro on the end of the roof space on the right, then out the back, despite the formality of the front, there is a lean-to.
no Photoshop, only macro-lense, fibro-lamp and a little fantasy.

I've not been well in that pesky "Real Life" place lately. A combination of fibro pain and "bad brain" have left me sore, exhausted and at times exasperated.
I haven't been able to be with my in world friends as often as I would like.
Luckily I was able to make "Scary Story Time" at the BBK Library and Panda was more then happy to let me cuddle up with her so I could let go of the RL worries for a few hours as we listened to Cinder weave her tales of spooky, scary times in the funnest of ways.
Panda is a dear friend who seems to understand when my body/brain in RL let me down. She is more then happy to hang out when I am feeling able enough to come in world and I treasure that so much.
She is a wonderful confident, sage in advice, quick with a wry sense of humour and most important of all:
A Red Panda
Thank you my friend for being so patient with me as the storms of stressors past batter me about at times. I love you very much and am so thankful to have you as my friend in both realms with a shoulder to lean on always at the ready.
Tuesdays are the BEST days. :-)

I've been away over 3½ months and it feels odd being back. Not sure if I will be totally back in Flickr or not but I do peek in on occasion. I'm so far behind that there is no catching up. Have only just been in SL since October 2015. I hope you are all well and I pray I get there too. Have struggled for quite some time with silly illnesses and mostly Fibro. Have a new doctor and well, lets just say im not ready to "do as I am being told" I HATE meds. We will see. Missed you all and your lovely works. Thank you for stopping bye. And yes, Hunter (Chaz) has headed home tomorrow will be a week he departed. He is missed by all.<3
Tomorrow is the world ME day. A poorly understood illness. Hoping research will soon understand a bit better the mechanisms leading to it, and eventually find a cure, or a way to prevent it.
I apologize if my joke title is lame...
Pour la journée mondiale de la fibromyalgie, en espérant que la recherche ne tardera pas à en comprendre les mécanismes et trouvera bientôt un moyen de la traiter ou de la prévenir.

In support of MARIA, www.flickr.com/photos/134385668@N03/52040827861/in/pool-s..., the Administrator of this group, and all who suffer from fibromyalgia.
About 20 years or so ago, I used to visit a lady who lived with her daughter and her family. I have never heard of fibromyalgia until she told me that she was suffering from this disease. She seemed to be in so much pain each time I visited her. She told me, at one time, she had to crawl from her bedroom upstairs to the kitchen to get something to eat. What made me so sad was her daughter and family didn't believe her. I felt so sorry for her. I was happy when, during one of my visits, she told me that she finally found a seniors' housing where she got the help she needed. I lost contact of her but I hope she is still around and continue to have someone with her who understands her needs,

Way Out West
The Dingoes
Way out west where the rain don't fall
Got a job with the company
Drilling for oil
Just to make some change
Living and a'working on the land
I quit my job and I left my wife
Headed out west for a brand new life
Just to get away
Living and a'working on the land
What a change it's been
From working that nine to five
How strange it's been
At last I get the feeling that I'm really alive
They give you a house made of fibro cement
You don't need no money
'Cause you don't pay no rent
And it's Oh so cheap
Living and a'working on the land
The infamous shacks along the lake foreshore were built around 1948. The Milang Progress Association controlled the area until the local Council resumed control in 1967. Despite government threats to their existence the shack owners have had several reprieves and they are still there.

First set eyes on this in the late 60s. I haven't seen it for over 45 years, until today. It's still stands and has not outwardly changed shape, but shows its fibro cement era age. It's probably an asbestos nightmare, and that's probably why it remains untouched.
