The new wave/electro-pop troupe Fischerspooner were formed in New York City in 1998 and have come to incorporate multimedia, strange handmade costumes, dancing, and performance art. Originally a duo formed by classically trained musician Warren Fischer and video artist and experimental theater performer Casey Spooner for an impromptu rendition of their makeshift track "Indian Cab Fever" at the Astor Place Starbucks, the group grew to over 20 performers, mostly dancers and guest vocalists. These singers have included Cindy Greene, Lizzy Yoder (also of Sweet Thunder), and Korean pop recording artist Mona Trona. The group uses the stage antics of David Bowie and traditional mainstream pop vocalists, along with the campy electronics of Giorgio Moroder or Depeche Mode and vocoders of Trans Am. By the time of their 2000 eponymous debut, Fischerspooner were a certifiable sensation in downtown New York City art galleries and clubs. The single "Emerge" topped European charts, invited a six-song remix EP, and won Fischer and Spooner invitations to international fashion, art, and society happenings. The 2002 album 1 was a re-envisioning of their debut with yet another mix of "Emerge," this time more sedate and electro, following the trend of the times. The duo returned in 2005 with second album Odyssey, on which hitmaker Linda Perry, intellectual Susan Sontag, and Madonna producer Mirwais all made appearances. ~ Daphne Carr, All Music Guide

ROBERTS CREEK is a community in the Sunshine Coast region of British Columbia, Canada. It is located in Area "D" of the Sunshine Coast Regional District. Roberts Creek sits roughly halfway between the Town of Gibsons and the District of Sechelt, the two main population centres on the southern Sunshine Coast.
Roberts Creek's present name came from the first European settler to this area, Thomas William "Will" Roberts. In 1889, he staked out a quarter section of flat land just east of the creek. To earn his crown grant to the claim, he built two cedar shake cabins, a chicken house and stables and cleared three acres for cultivation and fruit trees. Will's mother and father, Thomas & Charlotte Roberts, arrived from England the following year and Will's brother, John Francis "Frank" Roberts, joined the family two years later. Frank built a large log house a quarter mile east of the creek for his parents. In 1897, Thomas & Charlotte Roberts retired to Vancouver and Frank moved into the log house he had built for them. Frank's married son, Francis Thomas "Tom" Roberts, and his family occupied the cabin built by Will. In 1903, Frank and another son Harry established a shingle bolt camp along the creek. Frank later sold the camp and the surrounding 40 acres east of the creek and took on the job of Roberts Creek's first postmaster. On mail days, he rowed an Indian dugout canoe into the bay to pick up mail from the Union Steamship Company's Comox. LINK to the complete article - www.sunshinecoastmuseum.ca/roberts-creek.html

Lately there's been some people complaining that I don't or even can't focus right, while others think there's something wrong with my camera!!!
Although it's true my eyesight at this age is not what it used to be and I had to turn this defect into an artistic style of reversed focus, it's also true that from time to time, quite unexpectedly, I get the focus right!
Now, if only I could get the girls for real too!!!
:-)))
Have a very good day, all of you - guys and girls - and remember the Summer that was!
"Through the darkness of future past,
The magician longs to see
Once chants out between two worlds:
Fire, walk with me..."
Twin Peaks - for those old enough to know and remember!!!

Folks, it'll be radio silence from me for a few weeks, as I'm going on holiday.
I've gotten something of a backlog of undeveloped rolls, and I hope to shoot some more while during my break, so I hope to return with some fresh film!
Take care, and, as always, feel free to fail, on Friday and every day!

Nick Dainty's FF1600 Reynard FF78/80 Harris awaits loading into its rather smart-looking trailer in the background. I don't know if that is Nick posing on the back wheel, or whether he is the guy in the background in the race suit.
Accomplished Greek composer and guitar player.
