Park Avenue, Park City, Utah. I had the opportunity to go for a ride in this FF, quite an amazing machine!
Introduced in 2011, the Ferrari FF ("Ferrari Four") is named for its 4-seat, 4-wheel drive setup, a first for a Ferrari production car. The shooting brake design was developed to be sporty but more "practical" than its 458 and soon-to-be released F12 siblings, ideal for a weekend trip to the ski lodge while still cruising in style. That said, with a 6.3 L, 651 hp V12 engine and a 0-60 time of 3.7 s, this car truly is a Ferrari at heart (though arguably has not quite the same soul).
I'm torn on the FF - I can appreciate what Ferrari has done with this model, and I generally like the design, but if ever in the market for a Ferrari, I don't think this one would make the list. As with this model - I generally like how it turned out, though it's not one of my favorites that I've built. I have been building this on and off almost since the car was first released. In fact, those familiar with a pair of 458 Italias I once built may recognize this as a similar design, and indeed, a reincarnation of the white version (no worries, the red one is still in tact!). I finally decided it was time to finish this and post it, if at least to serve as a preview for an upcoming project...

This is not a repost, I finally got a mint Ricoh FF-70! Everybody knows the sort of reverence that I have towards this camera. In spite of its looks, it is a camera that has grown on me and conquered me. It has loads of character and it easy and practical to use. A Canon Sureshot might be slimmer, prettier, but it is bland compared to this one. I wanted a mint example since my FF70 was in fact a FF-90, but I swapped the cover from a dead FF-70! Although fully functional, it is very scruffy looking, and these cameras are hard to find where I live. So now I have one to use and abuse and another for collecting purposes!
Another plastic orphan camera! This is the Ricoh FF 90, that is very interesting, if not to look at. The camera is ugly and dated, but the top part is dominated by a super size LCD, the biggest I 've seen in a compact camera. Next to it are the command buttons and you´ve got plenty to play with. This is a program only camera, with a super sharp 5 element Rikenon 35/2,8 lens. However, you do get to manually choose your ISO or let the DX coding work for you. Also, the LCD screens informs you of how many exposures has the film that you loaded into the camera, very neat. The camera accepts films all the way to 3.200 ISO, don't ask me how. You also get exposure compensation of +2 ev, battery status, self-timer and what you want to see in that huge LCD.
The viewfinder is quite ok for such a camera, you get LED lit icons to tell you where the camera has focused, as well as the AF and parallax marks. The worst thing is the noise of the winder, like in most cameras of this era, but at least, the camera lets the tip of the film when rewinding, nice touch. Although beaten, I am really curious about this FF 90, I really have a feeling about that lens!
