The dutch soccer team Feyenoord has become Dutch champion today. So I tought this photo is appropriate for today. ;-)
Radioloc 626 aan het werk op Rotterdam Feyenoord. Rechts de Blokkendoos 30 84 9741938-9 van de Technische Vakschool wegonderhoud. Op de achtergrond de voetbrug waarvan je zo'n prettig overzicht op het emplacement had. Het nummer van de Blokkendoos had ik niet genoteerd, maar is dankzij Henk Boshuyzen nu bekend.

Stadion Feijenoord more commonly known by its nickname De Kuip is a stadium in Rotterdam, Netherlands. It was completed in 1937. The name is derived from the Feijenoord district in Rotterdam, and from the club with the same name (although the club's name was internationalised to Feyenoord in 1973).
The stadium's original capacity was 64,000. In 1949, it was expanded to 69,000, and in 1994 it was converted to a 51,117-seat all-seater. In 1999, a significant amount of restoration and interior work took place at the stadium prior to its use as a venue in the UEFA Euro 2000 tournament, although capacity was largely unaffected.
Vanaf de voetgangersbrug over overweg in de Rosestraat had je een fraai overzicht over de lijnwerkplaats Feyenoord. Altijd stond daar het nodige materieel opgesteld wat in onderhoud moest of stond te wachten op een volgende inzet. De 2269 voert een rangeerbeweging uit, terwijl aan de linker zijde 15 22/2400 en staan te wachten op de dingen die komen gaan. Voorop van links naar rechts de 2266, 2511 en de 2250.

RFO haalde in de middag van 11 juni 2019 een bij Standic in de Dordrechtse Zeehaven geloste ethanoltrein uit, en bracht deze naar de Kijfhoek. Vanaf Kijfhoek ging het in de vroege avond verder achter de (wat kleurstelling betreft) éénling 1829 naar Bad Bentheim. 10 minuten na vertrek van de Kijfhoek passeert de trein hier de vrijwel verlaten opstelsporen van de firma Shunter, die nog over een vestiging alhier beschikt. Als hier het nieuwe Feyenoord-stadion gebouwd gaat worden, zal de omgeving hier flink gaan veranderen....

Als u ouders van het leuke jongetje bent en u heeft bezwaar tegen het delen van de foto zal ik deze natuurlijk verwijderen.
Wie op 29 maart 1991 had voorspeld dat het NS-gebouw links 2 decennia later gebruikt zou worden door een bedrijf wat onderhoud pleegt aan goederenwagens en locomotieven van andere bedrijven dan staatsbedrijven had waarschijnlijk heel glazig aangekeken geworden. Er is veel veranderd sinds die tijd, ook aan de omgeving zoals hier te zien als NS 2342+werktrein+NS 2234+Van Welzenes machine vanuit de havens aankomt in Rotterdam Feyenoord, gezien vanaf de voetgangersbrug.

Whe call this building " Peperclip" because if you could take a look from above you see the shape of a Paperclip.
Om 16.20 uur zondagmiddag 14 mei 2017 kwam er een einde aan achttien jaar wachten. Door een hattrick van clubicoon Dirk Kuijt tegen Heracles Almelo kroonde Feyenoord zich in De Kuip tot landskampioen.

Couldn't resist uploading this one. I've always wanted to climb into those floodlights to make a nice shot. Unfortunately I didn't have a wider lens to capture the whole stadium but this will do for now. :)
We have been preparing the pitch for tonights Europa League game between Feyenoord against
Kuban Krasnodan. After finnishing the pitch for the usual training session from the away team, I asked for permission to get up in one of the floodlights to take some pictures of this magnificent stadium. It was a wonderful experience to be standing so tall above the stadium even though it might not look that high on the picture. The climb itself was allready exiting to me. I was never afraid of hights but when you are up there and you can feel the wind moving the light slowly like a boat....and then I was only halfway....

De Kuip is arguably one of the world’s most iconic stadiums. It has hosted a wide range of European cup finals as well as the final of Euro 2000. It is a home that is cherished by virtually every Feyenoord fan.
On the 27th of March 1937, De Kuip opened it's doors with a match between Feyenoord and Belgian side Beerschot (5-2). A month later the Dutch national team played its first international at the stadium against Belgium.

Old glory. Fijenoord was a shipyard from 1825 to 1929 when it was taken over bij Wilton. Rotterdam had a lot of shipyards. Wilton-Fijenoord was a shipbuilding and repair company in Schiedam in the Netherlands from 1929 to 1999.
The company has since been fully absorbed into Damen Shiprepair.
Onder de naam Fijenoord was van 1825 tot 1929 een scheepswerf en machinefabriek gevestigd op het eiland (de latere wijk en deelgemeente) Feijenoord in Rotterdam.
Het bedrijf werd onder de naam Etablissement Fijenoord opgericht op 10 november 1825 als onderdeel van de twee jaar daarvoor opgerichte rederij Nederlandsche Stoomboot Maatschappij (NSM) van stoommachinepionier Gerhard Mauritz Roentgen (1795-1852). In 1895 werd de naam gewijzigd in NV Maatschappij voor Scheeps- en Werktuigbouw Fijenoord.
Het bedrijf fuseerde in 1929 met de NV Wilton's Dok- en Werf Maatschappij, gevestigd te Rotterdam en Schiedam tot NV Dok en Werf Maatschappij Wilton-Fijenoord.
Ben een feijenoord supporter sind 1969. Mijn oom Jan De Gier woonde in delft en regelde vaak kaartjes. Mijn eerste wedstrijd was Feijenoord - tegen ajax in 1 -0 door Theo van Duijvebode , net overgenomen van Ajax. Toen mocht je zelf nog kratjes bier meenemen op de tribune. Was ook Toeschouwer bij Feijenoord- PSV toen grensrechter van Grieken geraakt werd door iets uit het publiek. Heb dit jaar 4 seizoenskarten gewonnen met Hyves. Maar helaas nog niet vaak verwend.
