Montreal International Fireworks Competition 2015/L'International des Feux Loto-Québec 2015.

You can't do a summer in Japan without fireworks, and Yokohama's Minato Mirai show is one of Japan's best.
My spot to view them however...was not one of the best. I didn't reserve a spot far enough in advance, so I had to settle for seeing them from right next to my hotel, with a mall in the way. Even still, it was great!
Worth noting that the show was cut short this year because 2 of the barges ignited and blew all their fireworks early. No one died, and from where I was standing, we couldn't even tell. We were just confused when it ended abruptly without a real finale!

Last Saturday I went to see the Pyromusical Competition where various countries present a pyromusical show during a 2 weeks period. This first show of the season was from Hong Kong.
The fireworks were launched from the Ottawa River. The view in the background is of the city of Gatineau, Québec (across the river from Ottawa)
It was the first time I used the Live Time (a Bulb mode) on my Olympus OMD-EM5 and it is great. It takes away the guessing that is usually associated with Bulb mode. As the picture is taken, you can see the evolution of the exposure on the LCD screen, so you know when to stop the exposure. What a great feature!

Samedi dernier, je suis allée voir le spectacle pyromusical des Grands Jeux du Casino Lac-Lemay, dans le cadre duquel divers pays donnent le spectacle pendant une période de 2 semaines. Hong Kong présentait le premier spectacle de la saison.
Les feux d'artifice étaient lancés de la rivière des Outaouais. On voit en arrière-plan la ville de Gatineau, au Québec.
