I would like to thank everyone who has taken the time to view, fave or comment on my photo. It is very much appreciated.
A female Northern Harrier hunting the Dikes at Steigerwald Lake NWR! She was very concerned about a Bald Eagle flyover, as you can see her eyes looking up above when the Eagle flew over!!
The females are easily recognisable because the lower mandible is orange. Both the upper and lower parts of the beak are black in the males.
Perhaps she should be called a Queenfisher!
"Seeing a female cardinal means that you will receive good news or something positive will happen for you in the future. The female cardinal is a sign of bright days ahead in which you can turn your dreams into a reality".

Some of us, like me, take photos for the beauty of what we see in SL. Others make their beauty, some tell stories with their art or they have art with purpose.
scylla.rhiadra's art has meaning and purpose. Her photos tell a story , some of the stories are hard hitting , socially relevant and profound.
She uses darkness to help illuminate her story in a way that leaves me in awe. I did not experience her art till she bumped into me one day at 777 motors. I checked out a few of her exhibits at different galleries and was blown away with the topics she covered and shared with her arts in an SL gallery. I felt like I could have been at any modern museum , maybe in SoHo New York.
I was honored when she asked if I'd take a pic with her. Her version shows how much she understands the use of lighting and darkness to share her vision. I took a photo, she captured a moment.

Noticed that most of the Warbler Pictures were Male Warblers.
Need to post more of the Female warblers from this Spring Migration.
I have always just used my Canon Photo Professional software that came with the camera and I have always found it adequate in the past. However, I have recently purchased a large external hard drive and that has a month's free Adobe Creative Crowd. I have always been viscerally anti Photoshop as, in my opinion, a lot of crimes against photography have been committed in its name but I'm going to have a little dabble with Lightroom and experiment a bit before I make the decision to use it.
The Wood Duck is one of the most stunningly pretty of all waterfowl. Males are iridescent chestnut and green, with ornate patterns on nearly every feather; the elegant females have a distinctive profile and delicate white pattern around the eye. These birds live in wooded swamps, where they nest in holes in trees or in nest boxes put up around lake margins. They are one of the few duck species equipped with strong claws that can grip bark and perch on branches.
a beautiful female Puma with a grey coat in a kind of ambush position, lying in the shade next to a wall of rocks . A young adult with a powerful build and a confident attitude.
This was during the first sighting of this one on a hill in the morning. Another image of the first sighting in the first comment box

The hairless area on the lower throat is called "the sore spot", and is apparently unique to this deer species.
