Meet LeBron... as you can see he's put on weight because he has his own feeding area away from the smaller birds. When his feeder is empty he lets me know.. see the video >>>>
An Eastern Gray Squirrel has perfected his modeling pose for food! This adorable Squirrel was on the outskirts of Manito Park in Spokane, Washington.

Happy Friday my dear friends!!!
The spotted woodpecker is hungry and sits right in front of my bedroom window. Does he want to tell me "add food"?
The robin even flew into the bedroom. The window was open for ventilation, it came in, sat down on the radiator, looked at me and flew out again. But there is no photo of it *lol*
Just back from a walk and they are hungry, what's new?!
Love how Margo & Olive are sat on the mat expectantly :) Evie just uses her eyes lol.
"Blue-gray Gnatcatchers, little gray birds with long tails and fussy sounds, are widespread in the United States and Mexico and the only gnatcatchers in eastern North America. In their brushy habitats they glean insects from plant foliage, sometimes while hovering, and may also sally forth from a perch to catch small prey in flight." Texas breeding Bird Atlas

At 5 or 6 days old, this young robin seems to be demanding service, although he did tire a bit and had to lean his neck against the nest. Continuing with my "Rocky" theme, here Cuff reminds me of Rocky, eyes swollen at the end of the fight when he is yelling for Adrian.
The juvenile blue jays are as big as mom and dad but have les blue on their heads, and they never stop squawking! A little wing flapping helps get mom's attention too...
White Stork / Weißstorch (Ciconia ciconia)
One of the chicks raises its head to call for a meal. The experienced parent gently touched the youngster with the tip of her bill to bring a little calm to the outburst.

I shall call her Audrey III. In honor of the man eating flower in the classic movie; Little Shop of Horrors.
A family of fledglings flew over the road one by one and we could hear the constant high pitched call from a lilac bush. This little fluffball found the twig in our conifer where it preened itself while waiting for Mum.
The goldcrest is Britain's smallest bird, which is not much bigger than a rose leaf. We watched the little fledglings for over an hour until they dispersed over the house taking the squeaky cheapings with them.

I have at least three juvenile Blue Jay in my yard coming for peanuts. They will sit in the tray and beg their parents for the peanuts that are right at their feet.
Mofongo is an Afro-Puerto Rican dish with fried plantains as its main ingredient. Plantains are picked green and mashed with salt and water in a wooden pilón, a kitchen device also known as mortar and pestle.
This baby bird was crazily flapping his wings all over the place. So cute!! He wanted food from mom... he's not on solid food yet. She obliged a few seconds later. :-)
