I never get fedup of robber flies with pleasing dark B/G. It was very difficult in the morning since it was very windy and cloudy, not enough light. I was lucky to get one decent shot.
My poor roses hang their heads, drenched with rain, and I feel pretty much like them. Last week the flickr burnout finally struck me. I was staring at the screen, brain empty, not knowing what to write as descriptions to my own photos, what to reply to comments I've received and even less what to comment on other people's pictures.
However, I feel a lot better since I reminded myself that I am not obliged to do anything here, neither to take a shot a day nor to upload it if I don't like it, nor to write detailed descriptions... not even to be here at all.
Boy, I'm SO fed up with this shot-a-day thing. Oh well, I expected it to become a chore at some point. On the very first day I said that I will stop the whole thing in case it should turn out to be more stress than fun." Well, I'm at that point now. Almost!
I may change my mind, but it sounds like a good idea to quit the 365 days by the end of June. Maybe I'll take a long, long break and revive the project on July 1st ... 2010. "Two half years in pictures" - that would be something new. And it would be such a relief!
But then again ... a couple of shots (not much, but a few) that I really like would never have been taken without the obligation of taking a shot per day. Such as the cute Friday Frog, the switchgrass or neighbour's cat. And many a walk wouldn't have been taken without the need of finding a subject. (From this point of view, the healthy aspect of flickr shouldn't be underestimated!)
Oh, and not least: I would have missed many an interesting discussion such as this one (to be continued very soon!!) if I weren't forced - for the lack of better subjects - to upload snaps of my daily life from time to time.
Argh.
btw... 165 days down, 200 to go. Ha!
