Location: Gulf of Patras, in the Ionian Sea, off the coast of Greece.
On board sailing vessel Jonty, cold and wet, sailing from Split in Croatia to Marmaris in Turkey, a total of 1,000 nautical miles (1,850 km) with JT, the Skipper, on the helm and Carl, the No.1, on lookout. We had sailed through the previous night and were looking forward to seeing the inside of a taverna once we made port.

Taken for the "show who you are" thread in Cream Me
Like an awful lot of other people I'm really not comfortable with having my photo taken
I think she gets more freckles every day. This is the face you get when you say, 'Can I take just one more shot, Rosie?'

That's right, folks, only minutes after the announcement, actually a news leak, the names of the new leaders of the new DEPARTMENT OF JOBS has been made official. They are, from left to right: Bobby Lee, Davey Duggins and brother Timmy Duggins. They are posing here, to serve as an example of being ready to begin their "SHOVEL-READY JOBS."
Maybe the worst is yet to come.
Maybe the worst, is right here now.
Maybe it's when, all is said and done.
Maybe I just, dont deserve you.
Maybe I'm just, not good enough.
Maybe I just, care too much.
Maybe you just, never cared enough.
This is the story of us,
The story of you, the story of me.

Fluff dressed in St. Patrick's Day decorations. Fluff was abandoned and adopted by my daughter Mary. She is the gentlest dog in the world: We love her. If you like her too, please leave a comment.

We went over to Lancaster Royal Infirmary today to see the Fracture Specialist. We arrived early and were seen about half an hour before my appointment time which was very impressive. After a short examination (during which I nearly fainted due to the pain) and some more x-rays he concluded that it looked unlikely I'd need an operation. Thank goodness. I was so releived, I'd been told to pack a bag for the hospital as if they decided to operate it would have been done that afternoon, so it was such a relief to know that I didn't have to stay in. I now have to go to a fracture clinic closer to home next week for some more tests andx-rays just to make sure. Fingers crossed.
Me, MYSELF sorry, correct english, or maybe just a little more um..... duunnno.

- My 3rd explore :) LOVE AND HUGS TO ALL WHO VIEW *XX*
Uploading these WAY late. Sorry. Moving to new PC after being on the same Win7-Pro machine for like 8+ years (I don't like change!), and it's been a mini-nightmare. Caught these a couple weeks ago at my local BNSF / Santa Fe yard.
====================
FYI.
These were shot with a 7.5mm fisheye lens because of the location, and poorly corrected so they look somewhat normal...
====================
Decided to head out to my local yard on a Saturday, got there at 9:30 and I was the only one out at the freight side platform. After a half hour I noticed someone down at the other end that I thought I recognized. Messaged him, and yep, it was him. My dude PasadenaSubColin.
We were both out there to just enjoy the day, me catching freights, and him freights & Metrolinks. He's a good dude to have around, as he lets me know when something cool is on its way into the yard, and I appreciate that he's all plugged into the grid to give the "heads up" when something's coming soon.
Well, this time I had, or rather found out, the "Heads Up" about 15 mins before he let me in on what would be the joke of the day. There apparently was a bicentennial engine coming through the depot today on its way to a RR museum in Perris, CA. The 5704!!!!! Big whoop.... One dude chatted me up asking if I knew when "IT" was supposed to come through. I had no idea what he was talking about and told him I don't follow trains. :-)
15-20 mins. later Colin messages me an FYI, that there's a "Special" train about to roll through. I've been in this situation before. I'm there benching graff, and all of the sudden 20 cars pull up and a bunch of "Railfans" jump out of their cars, run over, take a few photos of the "Special" car(s), engine or train, and when it's gone, they're gone. I feel like these are the people who only get out of bed when something "cool" is rolling through town. I really doubt they care about day-to-day operations of the RR. And honestly there's no way they give a shit about the graff.
Most people out at the tracks are cool, but there's a certain group of people who seem to have zero social skills when something "Special" is coming through, and we had at least one on this day. Some dude that kept walking past us, standing in my spot, like he was going to shoot from there when I got there at 9:30, and he got there at Noon. Walking past us by inches, and not saying a word, head down... Walking in front of cameras that were filming, hanging around my backpack and gear while I was like 30 feet away, just weird, un-cool shit. I'm not down with any of this. But I don't want to burn this spot as a bencher and didn't start any trouble, even though I wanted to punch this dude.. GRRR!
Will not be posting flicks of this special train car. Sorry. I saw it, I flicked it, but the whole experience was crap, and it was just one engine, big deal. I was there for the graff that you're seeing me post.
Was hot, no clouds, and at my end of the platform I had a 2ft. x 3ft. spot of slowly moving shade that was cast by one of the platform lights. After a while Colin and I were sharing this tiny moving spot of shade. No worries, we get along just fine.
BTW: PasadenaSubColin is a FOAMER!!!!!!!! ;-p
Managed to re-flick a few cars that I caught at the beginning of the month at the other end of the valley. Anyway........ I'll be back to try and ID these pieces soon. Might take me a little longer than usual as, like I said before, new computer, new crap to deal with..
Stay safe out there homies.
And..... As always, Thanks to the writers!

Yes, indeed, I am:
I especially don't like when rules require anyone posting to comment on one, or worst, on several other photos in the pool under the threat of being excluded (banned). This obligation fuels on the expectation that we all dispose of lots of free time to go ahead, dig into the pool, and find something we like, and comment something clever on it. More than time at hand, I guess it's the obligation to comment that I find irritating: please, leave it up to the real desire to comment on something one truly finds exceptional rather than forcing it down our throat. It also -- and therefore -- assumes we will find something we like and worth commenting on, which isn't necessarily the case. It finally expects you to leave comments right away after posting your own image(s). The funny thing though is that they all systematically fail to specify a timeframe for you to obey to the rule, yet ban can apply within minutes (and I speak of first-hand experience).
I hate to be banned. Worst, I hate that the group guidelines and description invite anyone being banned to inquire "why" with the moderators of the group, and when one does so, one never gets a reply (or extremely rarely). If you can't live up to the promise, then do not make any.
I am growing increasingly cautious of groups labelled as "heavily-curated", yet that fail miserably at drawing the necessary fundamental guidelines describing what would constitute an acceptable photo submission. "Feeling" (often mentioned as the sole criteria) is very sweet, but it unfortunately leaves it all in the hands of a closed circle of administrators and moderators, and it looks to me like acceptance is just as unfounded as a membership to the KKK. In my humble opinion, the vast majority of "heavily-curated" groups are fueling on pretentiousness.
And what can we say when a group ends up featuring images -- chosen, I assume, under the so-called "feeling" criteria -- that, to be true to the name of the group, do not even belong to it!?! I guess this is where the lack of guidelines is bound to eventually lead to.
I'm profoundly annoyed by groups limiting too much how much I can contribute to them.
It gives me nausea when I see a group with a long list of rules, and where each one is being more restrictive and castrating than the other.
Fuck those rules! I say. How about drawing ones that call on one's ability to be better and push its own creativity; Draw ones that make one feel like trying, and then leave it up to all in the group to decide whether or not it belongs; Draw very few rules; Draw rules that make one feel like wanting to be part of the group; Draw rules that are inviting.
Let's be clear on one thing: Flickr is a community-driven web space, opened to a wide spectrum of individuals, from amateurs to professionals. It's the possible "collisions" between the very complexity of the individuals forming this platform that is interesting, not the avoidance of it.
