Conseguenze del secondo bombardamento anglo-americano su Ferrara, 28 gennaio 1944. Sulla destra il campanile della Cattedrale attribuito a Leon Battista Alberti. La zona del duomo è stata una delle più bersagliate. Il grappolo di bombe colpirono la struttura dell’abside, il settecentesco coretto d'inverno, la sagrestia ed un fianco della cattedrale.
Ferrara tra il 1943 ed il 1945 subì 297 incursioni aeree che causarono la morte di almeno 1070 vittime ufficiali.

Consequences of the second Anglo-American bombardment on Ferrara, January 28, 1944. On the right the bell tower of the Cathedral. The cathedral area was one of the most targeted. The cluster of bombs struck the structure of the apse, the Winter Choir, the sacristy and a side of the cathedral.
Between 1943 and 1945 Ferrara suffered 297 air raids that caused the death of at least 1070 official victims.
