Revisiting the location of my first ICCD participation back in 2011 ( flic.kr/s/aHsjutbDBn )
This time with a FED3, and Industar-61 L/D 55/2.8, neither of which were issue free. The camera drags the shutter every once in a while, and the lens is actually a post-Soviet build from 1992, thus it shows the utter lack of quality from that time.
Got a chance to ask permission to an old man to take a picture of him and his dog. He wishes to see this picture someday, I hope we meet again in the future.
Thumbs up for you Mang Pedring for being the first person in this (100) Strangers, a mini-project of mine. Thanks!
This picture is #1 in my 100 Strangers Project. Find out more about the project and see pictures taken by other photographers at www.100Strangers.com

The early Leica cameras, and the other Leica inspired cameras like Canon III, FEDs and Zorkis, and almost any camera which winding also causes the film speed selector turning, always cock the shutter before changing film speeds.
FED-3 was offered many body and lens variations during its long producing time.
"Industar-61 L/D: The "L" stands for lanthane, glass coating of the lens. Lanthane is apparent a radioactive element, but its level is very low and harmless for humans, when measured with a radiation meter, the actual radiation given off by these lens is less than the background radiation. The "D" stands for "dalnomernaya", which means "rangefinder type".

With help from an online forum I was able to get to the bottom of the elusive light leak on my FED 3. It was a tiny little hole on the inside top of the camera between the film advance cog and the take up spool. I just wedged a piece of foam into it and voila! I am happy....I love shooting with this camera!
