Phillip Hartley, a New Bern resident since 1968, removes wood from a builiding on NC 43 built in 1955 in New Bern N.C. on Tuesday May 24, 2005. The building is owned by Anthony Veneziano of Anthony's Window and Siding Company Incorporated. Veneziano is giving the wood from the builiding to Hartly who plans on using the dense pine wood to build a new storage and workshop at his home. Hartly says his wife will be happy he is making the storage and work shop so he can move his stuff from the garge and his wife can then park her car there. Veneziano says he is planning on opening a climate control storage facility on the land where the building currently stands. (Kyle Fisher/ Sun Journal)

So I decided to try out the burst feature on my camera while Kristy, Dave, and I threw logs, rocks, beer bottles, and dignity into the creek to make a splash. Little did I realize that it would record them all onto one picture.

My work, the top most photo of a Hindu devotee during Thaipusam, appeared in World of Photography, Vol. 1 - a special first edition from the publishers of Photography Monthly (www.photographymonthly.com) magazine from UK. My photo occupies half the page! It's always feels good to see your work in print ... :)
Haven't seen a copy of Vol. 1 in the bookstores, so I had to order it online. Browsing thru over 500 inspiring images in the book, I didn't notice many images that were chosen from Asian photographers.
Outdoor Garden Water Feature Fountain - Features / Fountains
Garden fountains are beautiful outdoor water accents. Outdoor fountains are used in public parks, gardens, yards, patios and decks. The most traditional design is a tiered waterfall with multiple levels where the water cascades down many levels of stone. A garden fountain is very dramatic and has a high degree of water noise and motion due to the water becoming airborne and crashing into the lower level pool below. The water finds it's way into the pool at the bottom and is taken back to the top again by a powerful water pump to begin it's journey anew. Some famous artists and sculptors have created garden water features which add life and elegance to their sculptures. Today craftsmen and increased knowledge have made available garden fountains for private residences.
