The females of the Ol Keju Rongai Pride had brought down a Wildebeest earlier in the afternoon. The pride elders had already had their fill and moved away to the shade under the bushes.
The two sub-adult males just couldn't have enough of the feast and were still at it as the sun was setting. This Prince briefly lifted his head out of the carcass to lick all the blood all over his whiskers and face.

Just outside of Garheim’s capital city lies the estate of Lord Jakobsen. The most impressive part of it is the Hall of the Sun. Inside, it houses many different exotic plants, and is always much warmer than the outside. Here is where Leif Thorstein was invited to come to the feast that was demanded by the king of Roawia. He has come with his father, and once inside, he chats with merchants from both Garheim and Lenfald.
This is my entry for the Global Challenge 1 for the Lands of Classic-Castle.

A rich traditional Javanese dish usually prepared for feasts and celebration. Savory rice with turmeric, omelette julienne, fried chicken, liver in chili gravy, fresh vegetables, chili sauce, shrimp crackers.
There are several culinary cooks in my family and when we come together for a celebration, everyone has to contribute to the table. People turn up with various sized containers full of all kinds of interesting food. These we plated up and arrange on several large tables. This year we served each course, (3), in a share platter arrangement. My contribution, numerous salad ingredients.

Here we are Halloween , the clock is changed and the days are increasingly getting shorter. Back on loch Lomond again , the West and scenic part this time .
Stuey and I parked on the side of the road , less than 20 yards to the water . Our plan today is to catch fish , mainly pike and perch . We paddle in the distance with Ben Lomond and surrounding islands for sceneries . The weather is fantastic , the loch is flat calm , nearly warm and no predicted rain .
Here is a challenge , trying to find a fish in this immensity 26 miles long piece of water . The next 6 hours will be about casting and recasting 3 different rods , fishing shallow bays and much deeper spots . Every cast feels like , yes I am going to catch a fish , and each retrieve feels lifeless . Today is fishing and not catching . Loch Lomond is truly a challenging place to fish even from the kayak .
We paddled and explored , enjoyed company and looked after each other , but fishing on halloween , we should have worn our masks on . Till the next trip , hope it’s a bit more fishy .

A cedar waxwing eats berries dried over the winter. I have no idea what kind of berries they are - but a couple days later the bushes were picked clean.
Today is the feast of Saint Augustine who was born at Tagaste in what is now Algeria, c.354. He was not only the Bishop of Hippo and a theologian who profoundly influenced the western world, but the author of a rule and the instructor of our manner of common life. His Regula ad servos Dei, originally composed for a community of women, was adopted by the Canons Regular in the 12th Century.
Innocent III invited Saint Dominic to choose a rule for his followers from already existing and approved rules, following the Fourth Lateran Council (1215); as Jordan of Saxony testified, those who were to be Preachers professed the rule of Saint Augustine, who was himself a distinguished preacher; but they added certain stricter observances concerning the receiving of alms, fasting, vigils and woollen habits.
As Humbert of Romans showed in his commentary on the Rule, the apostolic life that forms the basis for the Rule of Saint Augustine was well-suited to the purpose of the Order of Preachers. The Rule, along with the Constitutions, remains today the foundation of Dominican profession.

a boodle feast is the philippine version of a popular southeast asian preparation of a dine in feast. the viands are arranged in between a long line of rice where the guests, eating together, can partake of the meal. traditionally guests will be eating standing up. it is a fun and enjoyable way of enjoying a meal with friends and family occasionally
