I often take my camera with me into public washrooms - you never know what you might see. Here, I only had my long lens with me, but I liked the repetition of the faucets and soap dispensers, and I was able to stand back far enough to capture them. Luckily, I was in there alone :)

Technical details are in the tags.

The longer you put off fixing 'em, the faster they drip.

hot day working outside so I turned on the outside water faucet on my house and took a long sip. sure enough seconds later the faucet started to light up in a rainbow of colors. that's when i realized that our water quality was the best that water could be in a world of plastic and oil.

For Macro Mondays "Drips, drops and splashes" theme. Taken with an off camera flash to stop the motion. This sort of thing is all about timing and it isn't easy to get it right. Probably took 700 shots and only about 20 were anywhere near interesting.

I adjusted the water flow to give a slow drip and set manual focus on a small aperture. I balanced the window light with a ring light and put a gold reflector behind the faucet stem. The green colour came from an avocado ornament placed on the window ledge.

I've seen more laughable subjects in modern art galleries, but slanting morning light definitely can add an impressionistic touch to ordinary objects.
