My Siamese always amazes me in the positions she falls fast asleep in!

A splashing grizzly bear (Ursus arctos horribilis) lifts a foot with its impressive claws out of the water as it makes a fast move (unsuccessful) towards a hidden salmon, Cariboo Chilcotin, British Columbia.

Southern Pacific dauylight GS4 4449 heads an Amtrak Special, heading her home to Portland, Oregon following her stint on the American Freedom train. Here pouring it on, rolling fast through the curves at Odell Lake - April 30, 1977.

I really wish I'd known what I know now about daytime long exposure when I shot this in 2009... Oh well...

Very fast reflection

Hooded Mergansers fly very fast and very low so I was excited to capture this one at E B Forsythe NWR

The rainbow salmon are too fast for the camera to catch

In the course of our first visit to the Altmühl-valley, unfortunatelly, we did not mange to capture too much interesting locos. As we were on the way to the spot, not less than three trains came after one other, but then, a pause of one and a half hour followed. The only real highlight that we could capture is Ecco’s 159.214. In contrast to our second visit, however, the nature was still green 😉

My own dream machine.

Pump those legs and wings, create that energy to endure lift-off and become part of the fast and the furious !

Have a safe and exciting day dear flickr friends.

Thank you to everyone for your visits to my photo-stream....very much appreciated !

An image taken on the Isle of Skye of a fast flowing icy River Slighachan, with the absolutely stunning mountain range of the Cullins in the background.

A bleak winter's day with a fast flowing Manawatu River.

No filters used for this shot, low midday light and a very small aperture did the trick!

Bridge over a river in Eau Claire Wisconsin

This was another one of those days where the weather just wouldn't play ball. Great, fast moving clouds that I knew would create a really atmospheric, long exposure image. But my progress was hampered by squally rain showers that regularly peppered me just as I was set up and ready to shoot. Fortunately, there was a break in the showers that was long enough for me to get a couple of compositions in the bag. Having to work quickly is not something I like to do but nonetheless, I am pleased with the images I got of Cullen Bay in Morayshire, Scotland.

Depoe Bay is a city on the Pacific Ocean Oregon Coast. It has a harbor that the city promotes as the world's smallest navigable harbor. The entry to the harbor is a 30 foot wide passage with a concrete wall at the opening and rock wall for the rest. We rented a place with a great view of the boats going in and out, a variety from kayaks on up to 40 ft tour boats for fishing and/or whale watching. We noticed that most power boats came in at high speed and then slowed some as they came to some bends in the passage. The sea was quite calm so the whales' puffs, backs and tails were easily seen from our place.

Fun and games at Green Lane, The Wirral as a Merseyrail class 508 EMU enters the station from the underground section.

I was drawn to the repetitive arrowhead of the footbridge and approaching EMU. A change of pace, and probably limited appeal, but I figured it was worth waiting for a couple of trains to get what I was after.

This old caboose sits at the Hagerstown Roundhouse Museum. Decided to get a little nuts with the pic, and here's the result.

Llanberis

The sun was in the perfect position to rise between the mountains for sunrise, but that was just one element. I had taken a few photos of the tree the evening before and the water was perfectly still, lovely reelections with a few clouds in the sky. Fast forward 12 hours and it was windy with hardly any clouds in the sky. Luckily i'd set up an hour before sunrise and managed to get a bit of the early morning colour.
