5/10/22 Sculpt update on the Revwien pilot from Star Wars: Dark Horse Comics Knights of the Old Republic. 1:18 sculpt.
Finally figured out this species thanks to Wookipedia! starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Revwien/Legends
This update centers on the frame build for the figure, its scale and articulation points. Sculpting will commence soon.
The frame is built from a Vintage Collection (VC) Chewbacca figure, the ball joint from a VC Greedo and another set of arms from whom I cannot recall. I have so many fodder figures, pieces and parts accumulated over the years I sometimes forget which part came from what figure.
Images show the before and after, basically bringing the parts together, sculpting a custom torso to fit the neck/head ball joint, arms and lower body. All parts borrowed for the frame are "dremeled" or sanded down to remove existing sculpts. They are then attached through joint systems or superglue.
This pilot will have 15 points of articulation which includes a swivel ball joint in the upper torso and a standard swivel in the waist.
The existing hands seen on the frame will be reduced and sculpted over to resemble the comic illustration. I plan to add small magnets into the "hands" to attach any custom accessories I may create.
Another shot I enjoy is the scale shot showing the pilot in relation to other customs I am currently working on. It's a big creature...and remember, it's a plant in a very clumsy, lumbering pressure suit.
I'm happy with how the frame has turned out. Once the sculpting begins to give life to the figure I think I'll be on the right track at creating a very unique custom of a very unique creature in the Star Wars universe.
