I've been working on this region in secret/not so secretly for a long long time. There are pieces and parts from all of my last builds repurposed, as well as plenty of new stuff including the castle which is custom textures/materials, prim/mesh AND original custom mesh arches by me all jammed together. It means a lot to have all the support for this project. It's a dream come true for me!

Presenting SPACE SHIPS, my LEGO love note to the amazing animated Netflix show VOLTRON : LEGENDARY DEFENDER.

Voltron's active fan shipping community and LEGO's disappointing Voltron offering inspired me to create this series of highly detailed poseable LEGO figures portraying some of the show's main characters in various (relation)ship combinations.
The message behind this project is one of love. Love should not and cannot be constrained by boundaries of race, gender or nationality. If you are intolerant of diversity or simply a rabid shipping fan, please keep your thoughts to yourself, thank you.
These characters were constructed using physical bricks (no computer rendering). Some were dyed to match colors from the show, occasionally a brick or two had to be cut, and in a few spots I added little white stickers (since you can only dye darker, not lighter). The figures held their poses without any supports so no photoshop trickery was required (other than routine photo enhancement). They'll be on display at LEGO shows up and down the US West coast starting with BrickCon in Seattle this October.
