Game - Fallout 4

Game - Fallout 4

From the Fallout series by interplay/Bethesda.

I'm sorta pleased with this.

The length is too much I think.

I should really go shorten it.

a relic of the cold war. i can identify.

it seems trite now but my generation grew up completely assuming that one day we or the world would die in a nuclear firefight. It wasnt a guess. It had the solidity of certainty. One day, either by horrifying accident or unflinching escalation, the missiles would be unleashed and pour over the artic circle, raining an apocalyptic destruction on us. i never bothered with the idea of fallout shelters and surviving - who would want to survive in that world? bodies addled with gamma-radiation, society shattered, the return of darwinian savagery, food and water poisoned, the healthy survivors shunning the refugees to protect the little they held on to.

the cold war seems so long ago and the geopolitical dynamics so irrelevent now, but at one time we lived with the reality of the world dying in the time it takes to sit down and eat a meal...

One more from the series "The Search for Extrasolar Planets." I haven't uploaded lately cause I've been working on my garden and enjoying the nice weather, it finally warmed up ;-)

The inspiration for this series was the current fallout situation in Japan.

I've been worrying more than is healthy, and then began thinking that the future is that of a dead Earth, and the few humans have mutated into creatures with no pigmentation, mimicking the post-fallout moonscape, and they've began a quest to find a planet that supports life.

A Vault Entrance from Fallout

One from the archives, mountain biking in Moab's Bartlet Wash. Cool spot with some crazy rounded cliffs and bowls everywhere. Kinda liked this one, even though it is hard to tell he is riding straight down a cliff. Hoo rah.

Well guys, here it is. And god am i exited. This is by far the most detailed/ most awesome figure I've made. And I still have yet to complete a fallout game.

Anyway on to the process. I started sculpting on a knight armor torso that had the bottom clipped. The helmet was a boba fett helmet. After sculpting the body I didn't know what to do about the shoulders so i found a fair of brickforge shoulder pads and grabbed some vambraces. once everything dried i painted the whole figure in gunmetal. I put in some black and light gray details around the whole thing, then dry brushed it with some brown to make it look rusty/dirty. Oh and for the pip boy I painted a dark brown strip and scraped away a square of paint (the braces are originally green).

So thats that! What do you guys think?

Fallout 4
