Getting the Flower Pots ready for Fall, 9-18-20.
As beautiful as the Flower pots and flower baskets were in downtown Bristol this year, it was time to empty the pots in time for fall weather. The hanging baskets were removed late last week by the Public Works Department, and Bristol Parks member Linda Powell and friends Penny Bucks, Lori Dreamer, Ron Norman and Perry Nelson formed a team to remove the leftover plants from the pots in the downtown area. After consulting with Public Works, the group took the remains to the designated dumping area. Each Spring, the Bristol Park Board is in charge of arranging to have flowers planted in the hanging baskets at the Turkey Creek Tree Farm and Garden Center and plant the larger pots around the town. Volunteers to help plant the flowers and later remove them in the fall are encouraged to attend a Park Board meeting and join the Park Board in helping to make downtown Bristol an attractive place for residents and visitors to admire. Park Board meets at Town Hall on the second Tuesday of each month at 6pm.
