I had some jigsaws already assembled for our current hand-cutters so I brought them along for display when there was space on the table.
Top Right: I only had time to do a small jigsaw by Howard as a fallback piece before setting off for the meeting. Luckily (with help) we completed the larger one before the S&T deadline (and then people started another one of his that I'd brought).

Our stay in Kyoto is at an end, time to catch the Shinkansen back to Tokyo. With seats on the Fuji side, we caught a peek of the summit through the clouds. We arrived in rainy Shibuya, but that rain borked our plans, then our backup plans, and then our fallback plan fell through. Plan “D” landed us in an Irish pub. Luckily, we caught the very last subway back to the hotel.
We attempt to drive the logging roads across the coast mountain range, but are turned back near the summit by a landslide. Thus, we never get across the mountains to the Valley of the Giants. Our fallback plan is a muddy hike into the woods to see the suspension bridge in hail and rain. The dog has a great time.
