This is a picture of a pool of water created by one of the streams at the Daniels Area of Patapsco Valley State Park near Ellicott City, Maryland.
Nothing but remnants left of an old farm homestead. The windmill is still functional, barely. It plays a low lonely lament.
whenever the land and sky conspire,
and the sun's like a blazing fire,
there's a merger at a horizon line,
blurred by foggy beauty ever so fine,

I imagine the farmer Taking a Break to catch this sunrise.. The farm chores will still be there after the beginning of the day.
Fall was a little lacking here in Alabama with hot temps and the drought, but there were a few spots of color to be found. Shot from the ground up for the NAPG Nov contest: Perspective.
A beautiful little haven I found when I crossed the mountain pass today. Canon...shot freehand while the Nikon was hogging the tripod.. ;)
