Fair Isle North Lighthouse (1892) stands on a promontory at the north end of Fair Isle between the Orkney and Shetland islands, Scotland. The 65-meter cliffs allow the light be be seen 41 km out to sea.

Finished knitting the hearts sweater and started another Dollswest fairisle but in Knit Picks Palette.
I started these fairisle gloves back in 2007, knitted the 1st glove up to the fingers then was waiting for shorter needles. The needles arrived but I was knitting other stuff. I finally finished the 1st glove in 2016 and did the cuff for the second. Another long gap. I picked these up again on Friday and now they are completed! And I love them.
I love knitted fairisle work that uses a solid colour with a self-striping yarn, so I wanted to see if I could create a similar effect with cross stitch using a solid colour and a variegated floss. But what to stitch? π, one of my favourite numbers, seemed as good a subject as any.
