The urban development of the banks of the Tagus River was subject to intensive development at the beginning of the 16th century, when King Manuel I built a new royal residence (the Ribeira Palace) on the river bank. The area was developed thanks to the construction of the port, shipbuilding facilities and other administrative buildings regulating trade between Portugal and other parts of the world at that time. During the reign of the King Dom Jose I, the great earthquake of 1755, followed by the tsunami and fire, destroyed most of Lisbon, including the Ribeira Palace and other buildings on the river. After the earthquake, the square was completely rebuilt. A large rectangular square in the shape of the letter "U" was designed, open towards the Tagus.
The square was called "Praça do Comércio" (Trade Square) to indicate its new function in the Lisbon economy. The central point of the square is the equestrian statue of King José I. In the direction of Augusta street, which connects the square with another traditional Lisbon Rossio square, a triumphal arch was built in 1875, called Arco da Rua Augusta.
The "Praça do Comércio" square has been recognized as a national monument of Portugal since 1910.

Rozwój urbanistyczny brzegów rzeki Tag podlegał intensywnemu rozwojowi na początku XVI wieku, kiedy król Manuel I zbudował nową rezydencję królewską (Pałac Ribeira) nad rzeką. Obszar ten rozwijał dzięki budowie portu, obiektów stoczniowych i innych budynków administracyjnych regulujących handel pomiędzy Portugalią i innymi częściami ówczesnego świata.
De Zalmhaven, also referred to as Zalmhaven Toren, is a project that includes a 215m residential tower in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Other parts of the project are two buildings of 70m each. The project was approved by the city in February 2010.
The 215m high residential tower houses 295 apartments and a parking garage. The tower and a second office building are designed by Dam & Partner architects, with Claus en Kaan Architecten designing a residential unit it is one of the tallest residential towers in Europe and the tallest building in the Netherlands.
In September 2016, the Rotterdam city council approved the plan. After fifteen years of preparation, construction started on 25 October 2018. With Zalmhaven I, the Zalmhaven has a height of 215 meters. The building itself is 203 m and the mast takes up the last 12 m.
On December 15, 2020, the construction of Zalmhaven II and III reached the highest point. Zalmhaven I reached its highest point in September 2021 and the entire project is completed in 2022.
De Zalmhaven contains 452 apartments and penthouses, 33 townhouses, a parking garage, offices, commercial spaces and a restaurant. The townhouses have a private roof terrace and the apartments and penthouses all have one or more outdoor spaces. The basement accommodates a five-story parking garage with 456 spaces. An inner garden will be realized in the lobby. A roof garden will be realised on the parking garage that is only accessible to the residents of De Zalmhaven. The apartments and penthouses in De Zalmhaven II and III have their own entrance at Gedempte Zalmhaven, but residents also use the facilities in De Zalmhaven I.

The Strathspey Railway operates from platform 3 of Network Rail's Aviemore railway station. Until 1998 the railway's southern terminus was Aviemore Speyside about 300 yards (270 m) further north. Aviemore Speyside is no longer in regular use, although its platform has been retained as a fallback in case of problems with access to the Network Rail station. Coaling of the steam locomotives is carried out at a facility constructed in 2014 on the site of the former Aviemore Speyside station building. Its signal box, which was formerly at Garve West and transported from there in 1986, was retained when the station itself shut. New features are gradually being brought into service at the Aviemore site controlled using traditional British Railways mechanical semaphore signalling.
From Aviemore, the line passes the four-road locomotive shed which was constructed by the Highland Railway in 1898. The original purpose of the shed was to house locomotives for the lines to Perth and Inverness (via Carrbridge and Forres). It was common for original Highland Railway engines to be allocated to the shed and in London, Midland and Scottish Railway (LMS) days it housed Stanier Black Fives, Pickersgill Bogies (Caledonian Railway), Caley 439 tanks, Caley 812 classes, and Fairburn tanks. In British Railways days the shed was allocated the shed code '60B'. These days the engines that are in traffic on the Strathspey Railway still bear the 60B shedplate on their smokebox. The shed has a 60-foot (18 m) turntable, originally from Kyle of Lochalsh.
There is also a carriage maintenance shed which was erected and opened for use in 2005; this shed allows the railway's volunteers and staff to work on its fleet of coaches indoors. On the opposite side of the line is a three road carriage storage shed erected and opened in 2011; this allows the coaches to be stored under cover and protected from the weather.
The former engine crew hostel, called Spey Lodge, stands just to the north. This building was erected by the LMS during the Second World War to provide railway crews with a safe and cheap option for accommodation whilst rostered to work locally. The British Railways Staff Association For Scotland then took it on to provide holiday accommodation for railway staff and their families. It was saved by the Strathspey Railway Company during the 1970s and gradually the facilities have been upgraded by volunteers. Spey Lodge now fulfils its original role again, providing hostel accommodation for engine crews and other volunteers working on the railway.
After Spey Lodge, the railway passes the site of the new Aviemore Hospital then crosses Dalfaber level crossing, an Automatic Open Crossing, Locally Monitored (AOCL). This level crossing was not originally part of the railway, but was installed after the development of the Dalfaber Estate in the 1980s. After crossing the road and passing the Cairngorm Brewery the line climbs through Granish Moor. This heather moor affords views of Cairngorm Mountain and the line runs parallel to the Speyside Way, a popular walking and cycling route. Once into the forest at the north end of the moor, the line descends past Boat of Garten golf course and into the village of Boat of Garten itself.
The Eisenbahnmuseum Bochum-Dahlhausen is a railway museum situated south of the city of Bochum in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It was founded by DGEG, the German Railway History Company in 1977 and is based in a locomotive depot that was built between 1916 and 1918 and ceased operation in 1969. Then DGEG took over the whole area of 46.000 m2 and built up the biggest railway museum in Germany. In the middle of the museum, there is an engine shed with fourteen tracks. A preserved turntable, coaling, watering, and sanding facilities are still in operation. This museum is integrated into The Industrial Heritage Trail (Route der Industriekultur) a route of monuments from the history of the industry.
The Zollverein Coal Mine Complex in Essen (More images in my series Zollverein) is one of the most impressive surviving examples of industrial culture from the modern era.
With their design of the central shaft facilities for Shaft XII, built between 1928 and 1932, Fritz Schupp and Martin Kremmer created the single most important part of the complex, both technically and architecturally. The industrial monument has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2001.
The site of the Zollverein coal mine and coking plant stands symbolises industrial history and structural transformation in the economy. Here, Schupp and Kremmer created a high-performance industrial complex with clear aesthetics and a high degree of functionality. Symmetry, axiality and gradation of scale – the organising principles of the modernist formal idiom – came into their own here in a new context.
The curtain wall façades, designed in the style of New Objectivity (Neue Sachlichkeit) and made of a steel framework inset with clinker bricks, earned the colliery the reputation of being “the most beautiful coal mine in the world”, even back in its working days. Clearly visible from afar, the 55-metre-high double winding tower rises above the other buildings as an icon of mining architecture and a symbol for the entire Ruhr region. Years later, Fritz Schupp built the Zollverein Coking Plant, which went into operation in 1961, in the same style as the coal mine complex. In its day, the mine was regarded as the largest and most efficient one in the world. An era came to an end when the coal mine ceased operations in 1986 and the coking plant in 1993. A total of 600,000 people were employed here and coal was last extracted from a depth of 1,000 metres.
In the context of the International Building Exhibition (IBA) Emscher Park, the facility, which is protected as a historical monument, was promoted as a model project; the first phase of refurbishment began in 1989. Today, the Zollverein complex is the central anchor point of the Route of Industrial Heritage – a 400-kilometre-long trail along the industrial and cultural heritage of the Ruhr region. Based on a master plan by Rem Koolhaas and his firm OMA in collaboration with the architectural firm of Heinrich Böll, the site was transformed with conversions and new buildings by Norman Foster and SANAA into a site for culture, business and education. Today, the Zollverein is a popular tourist destination that is home to the Ruhr Museum, the Red Dot Design Museum, the Zollverein Monument Trail, and the new Folkwang University of the Arts with its design department, plus the studios and ateliers of four dozen creative companies.

College Church is an historic church in Wheaton, Illinois, founded in 1861 by the abolitionist and first president of Wheaton College Jonathan Blanchard. Blanchard wanted the church to be known for its opposition to slavery, secret societies, and alcohol use.
The church was first affiliated with the Congregational Association of Illinois. Jonathan Blanchard's involvement as the first president of Wheaton College and as the founder of College Church caused the two institutions to share statements of faith and facilities.
The church suffered divisions over doctrine and affiliation during the years after its founding, leading to the creation of what are now First Presbyterian Church in Wheaton and Wheaton Bible Church. After a reorganization in 1878, the church was renamed the College Church of Christ.
Covent Garden is a district in London, on the eastern fringes of the West End, between St Martin's Lane and Drury Lane. It is associated with the former fruit-and-vegetable market in the central square, now a popular shopping and tourist site, and with the Royal Opera House, itself known as "Covent Garden". The district is divided by the main thoroughfare of Long Acre, north of which is given over to independent shops centred on Neal's Yard and Seven Dials, while the south contains the central square with its street performers and most of the historical buildings, theatres and entertainment facilities, including the London Transport Museum and the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane. Just before Southern Pacific leased the Toledo Branch to Willamette & Pacific, this was the state of the modest depot at Toledo, Oregon. Power for SP's Toledo Switcher is going to switch out inbound cars that arrived that morning on the hauler from Eugene.
It was a mild surprise to find a former commute SD9 assigned to a lonely outpost like Toledo. Sadly for the railfan community, the SP 4451 would not be one of the 20 “Cadillacs” leased to WPRR when they commenced operations nine days later.
Before the creation of Burlington Northern, St Cloud MN was a major Great Northern hub. Routes went north to Fargo, south to Minneapolis, east to Brook Park and west to Willmar. In 1966, there were three passenger trains each way per day, at least three through freights and several locals. Throughout the 1980's, BN disposed of everything. On a happy day in January, 1976, the roundhouse has been recently removed and the GN St Cloud Facilities contained an unusual amount of green. The 1887 was a former NP GP9. The 1401 and 1416 were virtually new, rebuilt at West Burlington during 1974 and 1975, the BN called them GP7U's or GP10's with 1800 HP, but among the troops, they were known as CLRP's, from Capital Locomotive Rebuild Program. 1401 was former GN 623 and 1416 was GN 616.
The BN CLRP's survived to work for the BNSF.
Bahaddarhat bazar is a populer marketplace in Chittagong, Bangladesh .
Best local market, you can find here almost everything. You can find all grocery, fish, meats, vegetables and everything in one market here. basically it's not a market, it's a bazar. Not good parking facilities here. The environment is not up to the mark to do shopping with convenience. You found here everything is cheaper then anywhere else. You just have to bargainer. This kachabazar is one of the oldest markets in this part of world where you will find every single daily necessary items. But as usual, for local people we can deal with environment, foreigners need to be with masks and suits to protect from dirt and filthy environment.

This is my LC Verse Carnage, I decided to keep the torso and legs for him because I thought it suited him more than anything I tried out. I gave him a more "Superior Carnage" look to his head and tentacles rather than the simple venom looking one. I also changed his name to something I found kind of interesting. The people who created Carnage were apparently going to call him "Ravage" but decided to change it to "Carnage". I thought this suited him quiet well however so decided to go with it.
Tell me what y'all think! My version of his backstory is below!
LC Verse Spider-Man
Ravage - Cletus Kasady
- Normon Osborn realised after the "betrayal" of Parasite (Agent Venom) he needed a more savage version of the creature. One who doesn't have a cool head to gather his thoughts, because that's what caused him to lose Parasite to join Spider-Man when he was convinced by the hero to be good. So Norman used his OSCORP facilities to genetically alter Banshee (Scream) so she produced 1 offspring through Asexual reproduction. He then realised that the symbiotes mimicked their hosts personalities so he decided to select a crazed individual and who better than a psychopath?
- Cletus Kasady was approached by OSCORP and was fused with the symbiote, immediately it took on the savage personality and radiated with rage. He called himself Ravage and now follows Norman Osborns orders to kill Spider-Man.

Huge coat racks inside Linnhall line the east and west walls, and although the long abandoned space is falling apart, the old racks are still clearly visible.
Tallinn's Linnahall is a Soviet era concert and sports venue.
The 1980 Summer Olympics were hosted in Moscow. As inland Moscow had no suitable venue at which to stage the sailing event, this task fell to Tallinn, the capital of the then Estonian SSR. Apart from the main venue for the sailing event, Pirita Yachting Centre, a number of other sports and entertainment facilities were erected, among them the V. I. Lenin Palace of Culture and Sport. designed by architects Raine Karp and Riina Altmäe.
The skating rink closed in 2009, followed by the concert hall in 2010. The city sought investors from 2009 to 2015, and in 2015 the city council decided to renovate Linnahall, although the project did not come to fruition.
While touring around Vermont in March of 1990, a stop was made in Morrisville VT to check out the LVRC facilities. The 7805 had seen better days, and appeared to be looking at it's future with a trio of former Central Vermont RS11's in the yard. Even though it was a quite weekend, Morrisville appeared to be a happening place. Twenty eight years later, you wouldn't even know that this place existed.

Either a school built for the correction officers; children or a social hall at the closed Wahington Correctional Facility.
While countless fans flock to CN's former Missabe Road mainline to chase the ore trains behind their vintage power, their nextdoor neighbor is largely eschewed. But BNSF continues to be a major player in the ion ore business with exclusive access to two of the six currently producing taconite pellet plants in the Iron Range region. Serving the Keetac and Hibtacc plants of US Steel and Cleveland Cliffs in Keewatin and Hibbing respectively these facilities are west of the DMIR along legacy Great Northern Railway routes. While some ore moves via long all 'all rail' routings much of it flows to Superior and the massive ex GB Allouez ore yard and docks. The primary route for these trains among the heaviest in North America is via BNSF's Allouez, Lakes, and Casco Subdivisions. The latter basically parallels the former DMIR northward some places literally in sight of their competitor.
Despite this proximity you see comparatively very few photos of BNSF operations along the Casco. I suppose this makes sense given that trains are much less frequent and they run with mundane modern wide cabs and similarly modern ore hoppers. However there is an exception to that rule and we got intel that on this day the biweekly (I think) road local was to be heading south from Kelly Lake Yard with a lead unit still in Burlington Northern green.
After confirming with a friend at BNSF that a crew was indeed ordered and we took the leap of faith and drove 90 minutes north. Upon arrival we sure enough found the train built in the yard with three units and the advertised BN leader but all shut down and narry a soul around. But we gave it a bit and soon enough a taxi arrived, the units were fired up and the crew of BNSF's MKLLSUP (manifest Kelly Lake to Superior) started moving slowly down yard track 17 to thr Casco Siding while calling for a signal out of the yard. While largely empty these days and with only a few tracks remaining, Kelly Lake Yard was once a very busy location for sorting cars from different mines back in the raw ore days. Today BNSF's giant taconite pellet trains don't needs switching as they pass by headed to the HibTac Sub that diverges just north (railroad east) of the yard.
This is about MP 106.8 on the Casco Sub and in the foreground is a siding to one of the very few non iron ore related customers in this area. This line is all welded rail, CTC, and 50 mph territory, so with no opposition they were given signals the length of the line 49 miles south to Brookston. After getting this shot here we drove 40 miles south (50 by car) for our second shot and made it with only minutes to spare and it was one of my favorites of the trip. This two-storeyed former hotel was constructed in 1885 for Brisbane publican Daniel Costigan. It replaced a previous, less substantial structure on the site, which had functioned as the Plough Inn since 1864. The new building was erected during South Brisbane's heyday and was part of the 1880s boom-time reconstruction of Stanley Street premises.
The building was designed by architect Alexander B. Wilson, who is more known for his domestic work. It was built by contractor Abraham James, whose tender of £3,300 was accepted in March 1885.
The hotel, prominently located in central Stanley Street, serviced the commercial heart of South Brisbane. Its proximity to the South Brisbane wharves ensured its popularity amongst those engaged in shipping interests.
Initially the L-shaped interior comprised on the ground floor: a central hall, staircase, dining room, two private rooms (probably for dining also), bar, parlour, storage spaces, billiard room, and lavatories; the first floor contained fourteen guest rooms and a bathroom. A verandah along the back of the building connected it to a detached single-storey kitchen. A cellar completed the facilities.
The building has been altered a number of times since its initial construction. In 1922, additions were made by contractors Robertson and Corbette, following the designs of GHM Addison and Son. It is thought that the street awning was added at this time.
In 1987 the building was modified to function as a tavern during Expo '88. Most of the internal walls were removed, the central fireplace and chimney were taken out, and the interior was re-fitted. Also the front verandah was widened, the rear verandah extended, and windows and doors replaced at this time.
In 1991 - 1992 a conservation plan for the Plough Inn was prepared by Bruce Buchanan architects, and the interior was fully refurbished. The front verandah was also reconstructed.

To see the paucity of fuelling facilities that we encountered almost daily explains much about how our working day was sometimes extended by the delay in getting ten buses refuelled. But on Day 3 the two hundred miles to cover involved good roads and no mechanical issues to delay us so with a 9.00am departure we covered the ninety miles to this main stop of the day near Auxerre in just over two and a half hours. Even with the fuelling downtime we would arrive at our overnight stop ahead of schedule and in full daylight making it the least arduous day of the trip.
