It's not a recent shot,but it was taken on 23rd St between between 5th and Avenue of the Americas (6th Avenue) in Manhattan.There's a Home Depot in the same block (for those who are curious to know about the exact location).What's interesting about these buildings is that back in 1857 they were once brownstones in an era where brownstones were first seen on city streets.The front of the brownstones were replaced with cast-iron façades in 1882.Floors were probably added to them as well as was the case with the building with the Starbucks Coffee sign below it.Pulitzer prize-winning novelist Edith Wharton spent her childhood years in a brownstone.She detested brownstones later saying that it was the most "hideous stone"ever quarried. Two floors were added to the building in later years.The brown color you see on the windows is a facade reflection from an adjacent building.Miss Wharton's father George Frédéric Jones (or two great-aunts in another place I read) was said to have coined the phrase "Keeping up with the Jones's"

This is the first facelift version of the SH760. Front and rear were redesigned to loose the 1950s look, but the centre section still remained like the Mercedes W180.

The SH760 series was a "mid-level" car for officials that did not deserve an FAW Hongqi.

Looks like someone is taking time to make repairs to this nice looking (and unusual) black painted barn. Hopefully this one will be standing for many more years to come! The barn quilt is a great touch as well.

(Oleg bends over the egg...gives it a kiss......looks up....)

You see Peter...the egg does not wake up and so it is not Sleeping Beauty.

What are you standing there giggling at me. What's so funny.

PETER: (giggles more and more)

It's....it's...(keeps giggling)...your face!!!!!

You got the face of the egg!!!!!!

OLEG:

I knew it!!! That's why that kiss felt so sticky

The egg was painted and the paint was still wet.

Wheeling 775 emerges into perfect morning light with freshly repainted ex-D&RGW SD40T-2 #5412. The unit was shopped in back September after smoking a traction motor, and received a facelift while it waited for 6 new wheelsets to arrive from Ukraine. In addition touching up the nose, the shops added black numberboards (an homage to its original setup) and repainted the flying letters on the long hood. After years of being the ugly twin, the 5412 is now the class of the Rio Grande legacy roster.
