Pastel on pastel card affixed to wood; 7.5" x 7.5" x 8"; 2011; I was interested in the idea of how the same shapes of different parts of the face can make different expressions, depending on how they are put together. I wanted to make "impossible expressions"–expressions I couldn't physically make, but that still somehow make sense when put together. (Self portrait)
