de esa convulsa costumbre
que es el comprar y gastar.
Cuando llegan estas fechas
todos vamos a la calle
a buscar no sé qué cosas,
pues algo he de comprar,
de lo contrario no siento
que estamos en Navidad.
Y de esta tonta manera
perdemos la ocasión,
entre prisas y carreras,
de poner a cada cosa
en su adecuada posición.
El tener no acentúa,
por mucho que se gaste en ello,
la riqueza de tu ser.
Sabe ser, no aquel que gasta,
sino quien pudiéndolo hacer
sólo usa, justo a tiempo,
necesidad y placer.
Lo demás no necesita
gastarlo para tener
una vida decorosa
siendo y sabiendo ser.
Eén van de installaties die te zien zijn tijdens het contemporary art festival Façade 2022 in Middelburg.
De installatie van de Oostenrijkse kunstenaar Erwin Wurm heeft geen titel. Hij zegt er zelf over: ,,We brengen de meubels naar buiten. Met zo’n werk reageer ik op de zwaarwichtige kunst van de jaren zestig en zeventig, waarmee ik ben opgegroeid. Waar komen we vandaan, waarheen gaan we: hele zware pathetische werken die de toeschouwer klein maken. Ik doe het precies omgekeerd en maak mezelf klein. Door de meubels naar buiten te brengen maak je jezelf als kunstenaar kwetsbaar.”

One of the installations that can be seen during the contemporary art festival Façade 2022 in Middelburg.
The installation by the Austrian artist Erwin Wurm has no title. He says about it himself: ,,We bring the furniture outside. With such a work I respond to the weighty art of the sixties and seventies, with which I grew up. Where do we come from, where are we going: very heavy pathetic works that make the viewer small. I do the exact opposite and make myself small. By bringing the furniture outside, you make yourself vulnerable as an artist.”
