Defending the city...St. Thomas,U.S. Virgin Islands

It is the oldest standing structure in the Virgin Islands!

An ice storm came through on the night of January 31st into February 1st allowing us to wake up to a crystal world of blue and white.

View the bouquet of flowers

Angela this is the tree. Tree it huge 20' tall and perhaps 10' wide. Full with these flowers. Do you know name?

Found Name Hawthrone Tree - "Crimson Cloud"

We (that's me and Islay) enjoyed an amazing wild camp on the shore of Fionn Loch in this great wilderness before climbing arguably the remotest Munro in Scotland, A' Mhaighdean. Although devoid of humans, there was a plague of pesky midges! (My Nikon was yet again too heavy for my backpack!).

Jamaica - Montego Bay Hills !

I've never seen a Yellow Rump Warbler at my feeders and come to find out there is a reason. Our unseasonably cool and wet weather is resulting in natural food sources being well behind schedule, so the birds that are here – on time in many cases – are searching for alternative food sources. And therefore: warblers at feeders!!

Its a real treat to see this bird. Spring is so late this year we are seeing many species at the feeders - but the warm weather is coming and soon they'll be looking for bugs in hard to find places.

Hope you enjoy this wonderful surprise!!!

BTW - there is yellow on his back too - push z for details ;D

Be well:)

Fifth image in a series capturing Kaikoura. Second morning sunrise. This time looking away from the snow capped mountains and directly to where the sun rises. Single long exposure shot.

Caesar's Palace...Las Vegas :))

I was there, and captured this event on Kodachrome film. 45 years later, it still seems like a dream. Five big Rio Grande SD45s pull a westbound merchandise train through Provo, Utah as the sun goes down on June 9, 1977. D&RGW rostered 26 of these 3600 horsepower pullers, delivered by EMD between Jan. 1967 and May 1968. Lead engine 5340 was the last unit of the series.

Topaz Glow "liquify" tweak for these Bramble leaves but the colours are straight off the camera. HSS everyone!

I was craving a sandwich from Lucca’s deli but had no idea if it is still open, It has been years since I was in the deli and Covid changed everything in the bay area and many restaurants are permanently closed. I was so happy to find the deli was open And looked and smelled Wonderful. It still has the old school look with great vibes. The sandwich and salad was delicious. So glad this place is still open for business what a treat.

It's my favourite time of year and today, at Sheffield Park, I was able to enjoy Autumn in all its glory. When I first visited the park, probably 40 years ago, I used to have the place almost to myself. Today things are somewhat different, but it's still possible to find peace there.

Les quatre fabuleux

The lines and curves in these creamy coloured fungi are accented with a rich brown edge. I was pleased with the detail in the lines on the underside of the fungus in the forefront. These organisms are growing on what remains of an extremely large Carolina Popular.

I've been going through my shots of our passed and previous trips to France.

This is a shot taken on a visit to the beautiful Bergerac!

Looking forward to our next trip!

An iconic piece of the wonderful 50's, the 57' Chevrolet Bel Air with it's distinctive fins & large steering wheel will always be remembered as one of those special memories along with the sock hop, malt shops, drive ins, introduction of color tv, The Coasters, Doo-wop, popularity of the hula hoop soars & Elvis gyrates on the Ed Sullivan Show.
