Clothes drying in apartment window ...

Taken for the Smile on Saturday theme of Fancy Fabrics. I have spent ages faffing around trying to get a shot I am happy with using all different fabrics but this is the best I could manage! The fabric is blurry just in case anyone thought it was out of focus! HSoS!

Did a little fabric shopping today.

HOUSE OF PINKU

Summer 2011

Though it was quite pricy so I only got a small pice, thinking maybe I should make it into a cute dress for one of bigger girls...

This project has kept me busy! I cut many strips of 3/4" fabric and wound them around clothesline and zigzagged it till it was the size I wanted. Finished size is 4x10". Very tedious but worth the effort.

Some cute little fabric yet to be determined what to create with it.

At a thrift store

The scale is too large for doll clothing, but so pretty!!

This bouquet will get better wtih age and is sure to brighten up even a cold winter's night.

Made a tutourial for you, in my photostream.

These fields reminded me so much of a piece of woven fabric. It's almost like the curtain I wove last year. Maybe I'll make a tapestry out of this shot! hmm...

Yangon (formerly Rangoon) is the capital of the Yangon Region of Myanmar. Founded in the early 11th century by the Mon people, the city became the capital of the country under British rule following three Anglo-Burmese wars (1824-1826, 1852-1853, and 1885). It remained the capital after independence from the British was acheived in 1948. The capital was moved to Naypyidaw some 330 km (205 mi.) to the north in 2006.

The Bogyoke Aung San Market (formerly Scott Market) was built in Yangon in 1926 during British Rule. It is a warren of shops selling antiques, jewelry, handicrafts, fabrics, clothing and art where I took this photograph.

I've not met many like ela. Actually, I've yet to meet her. My flickr friend ela is from Romania, on another continent away, but she has become someone very dear to me. She somehow manages to stay motivated, despite her current struggles, to keep up with her artistic side. Along with her insightful and often fascinating photography, she crafts tiny creatures and dolls from scraps of fabric. They're amazing!

I myself have never enjoyed sewing as it requires so much patient focus, yet just recently I found myself digging out some scrap fabrics, ironing them out, and cutting out heart shapes to be made into 3 inch tall puffy hearts. The work is no longer work; it's an expression of joy containing gifts of acceptance and motivation gleaned from several world-wide friends such as ela. I am so grateful to the people who keep on keeping-on; you encourage all of us with your perseverance... Wishing all of you a Happy Valentine's Day :)

My other hobby is designing and making clothes. I bought this red fabric for a dress. Before cutting this to pieces I shot series of photographs and used them for creating "Red fabric project".
