This week's Spoonflower fabric design challenge theme is "Paint by Number". Challenge entrants were asked to design a pattern that "should capture the iconic styles found in the beginner-friendly technique: full opacity, crisp solid line work, clearly defined areas of color and a simplified take on your subject matter." Do you remember doing paint by numbers?... As a kid growing up in the 70s, relatives often gifted me paint by number kits for birthdays, feeding my love for creating from an early age. When faced with this Spoonflower challenge Paint by Number theme, I still wanted my design to be in an endless repeat, so I decided to go with a floral clematis vine design which creates a painterly feel using shapes of solid opaque color and crisp lines.
