I took this picture at a really cloudy morning. I hoped to see the moonset. But there was no chance to see him. But on the other side of the Bride the clouds became out of control. For a few minutes everything became like this. I saw this fence and dicied to give it a chance. I love the colors. I hope you too :D

Das Bild enstand an einem sehr bewölkten morgen. Ich hoffe noch mal den untergang des Riesenmondes zu fotografieren. Doch da war keine Chance, es war einfach zu bewölkt. Aber auf der anderen Seite der Brücke spielten die Wolken verrückt. Für einen kurzen moment sah alles aus wie hier. Ich liebe diese Faben. Ich zah den Zaun un beschloss ihm eine Chance zu geben. Ich hoffe ihr auch :D
Die Kapellbrücke in Luzern mit der Weihnachtsbeleuchtung im Hintergrund. In ein paar Tagen wird die Weihnachtsbeleuchtung auf der Seebrücke wieder entfernt.

Alle Jahre wieder kommen die wunderschönen Vögel für ca.3 Monate aus dem Süden Europa und Afrika zu uns nach Deutschland. Da ich nicht weit weg wohne ist es ein muss immer wieder hin zu fahren um Aufnahmen zu machen.

Every year the beautiful birds come again for approx. 3 Months from southern Europe and Africa to Germany. Since I live not far away it is a must to go again and again to take pictures.

Genau in diesem Moment kam das Meer am Horizont zum Vorschein und schnitt sich mit der Verlängerung des Weges. Die Farben rundeten das Gesamtbild ab. Mir gefällts, ich hoffe euch auch.

This is a shot of the 1964 U.S. Customs Station at Fork Hancock from July 1988. Only one Border Patrol officer was on duty and he graciously allowed my two sons and I to walk across the 510 foot Fort Hancock-Porvenir Internation Bridge which was built across the Rio Grande in 1936. In the background you can see one of the local flourishing cotton fields.
The Fort Hancock Station was established in the latter part of 1925 through the assignment of a Patrol Officer at Fort Hancock. During April of 1926 one additional officer was assigned to the station.
Increased development of farmland in this area during the early 1930's required a larger labor force than could be supplied from local United States citizens and resident aliens. However, as employment was at a low ebb in other economically depressed areas, large migrant labor crews composed of United States citizens were available to meet the farm laborer needs. During this period it is reported that practically no local demand existed for illegal alien laborers and immigration enforcement problems continued to be confined primarily to combating the smuggling of Asiatic and European illegal immigrants.
During 1932, two additional officers were assigned to Fort Hancock, increasing the duty force to four. Within the next few years, the duty force fluctuated from four, six, to 8 officers and at one time a one man outpost was maintained at Finley, a small railroad community located approximately sixteen miles east of Fort Hancock. Ideal farming conditions and the development of better cotton strains influenced the expansion of agriculture to such a degree that during the period from 1944 to 1956 as many as twelve officers were assigned to Fort Hancock to cope with the influx of illegal aliens who regularly sought employment in agricultural activities.
In August of 1960, the Fort Hancock Station was closed and the area was divided between the Fabens and Sierra Blanca Stations. Almost immediately the crime rate increased with numerous thefts and acts of vandalism attributed to illegal aliens. The citizens of Fort Hancock complained to the federal government concerning the loss of their only protection from the criminal element crossing the border so in November of 1960, the station was re-opened. Negotiations began in 1962 to construct a Government owned Border Patrol office building at Fort Hancock, and actual construction began in May 1964 and was completed in October 1964.
In August of 2009, construction of a new station was completed situated on South Highway 1088 in Ft. Hancock, Texas.

Vor dem Wahrzeichen der Stadt Schaffhausen, der im 16. Jahrhundert erbauten Zirkularfestung "Munot", überquert ein Sonderzug, gezogen von der in TEE-Faben zurückversetzten SBB Re 4/4 421 393 die Feuerthaler Rheinbrücke. Das Kursschiff "Thurgau" befindet sich auf der Fahrt dem Rhein entlang nach Kreuzlingen (16. August 2020).
A special train, pulled by SBB Re 4/4 421 393 in TEE livery, crosses the Rheinbrücke in Feuerthal in front of the landmark of the city of Schaffhausen, the circular fortress "Munot" built in the 16th century. The scheduled boat "Thurgau" is on its way along the Rhine to Kreuzlingen (August 16, 2020).

This wasn't my car when I fled Uncle Sam to live beside the desert in Fabens. Texas. (Mine was a 1949 Chevy truck I bought for $125). I was on the run and I was as dry and empty as the sky or the sand. Memories. Dedicated to the Broadway Courts Motel, long gone. And to the person I was, also long gone.

I couldn't help but notice these interesting Blister Beetles at a Rest Area along the I-10 just south of El Paso, Texas.

LA ISLA. When Mexico became independent in 1821 a chain of six towns in the El Paso area situated from three to five miles apart stretched along the southern bank of the Rio Grande. In the early 1830s the capricious river formed a new channel south of the old one, thus placing three of them-Ysleta, Socorro, and San Elizario-on an island some twenty miles in length and two to four miles in width. For the remainder of the Mexican period this area was called La Isla, "the Island." The Rio Grande continued to flow primarily through its new channel, and by 1848, when the river became the boundary between the United States and Mexico, water had ceased to flow in the Río Viejo, or old riverbed.
